the kind of sunday...

see the mountains in the background? that's my view when i look out our kitchen window, out onto our balcony back porch.

(summer months, i can not wait for you)

maverick asking to play in the snow.

she hops around like a rabbit, trying to keep up with Bubbles.

Today was a pretty day... A kind of sunday that calls for staying in your pajamas. The kind of Sunday that calls for grilled cheese and tomato soup.

Sharing Sundays... Every Little Counts.

in Amy's words:

Every Little Counts is about love. This is a collection of loves, obsessions, memories, and influences.

one of my favourite posts was when she shared pictures of her beautiful Mom, circa 1972, when she was single in her 20's and roaming around Europe:

"while cleaning the house, she just found a cedar box full of love letters from around this time period. i am dying to read them...she was such a heartbreaker. "

Every Little Counts is obsessively nostalgic (as am i).

Not only does Amy own one of my favorite little corners of the internet, but along with her Adam, they have a fashion line (that can also be found on etsy). Everything they make is by hand from their Brooklyn Studio.

My favorite tee has always been this one, which just seems to describe the girl i am.

my valentine card creations.

this is what i woke up to this morning. A white Narnia just for me.

You should know that i am the least bit crafty, which is half the reason i signed up for the handmade valentines day card swap i told you about here. And today was the perfect weather to work on it. i was thankful for a project.

i thought, i've got 5 to send out... what can i do similar but different for all 5 girls? and then it hit me... a theme.

I'm very much a cinema girl. I chose 5 films that expressed love to me. Classics of course (like Franco Zeffirelli's' Romeo & Juliet), but also Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Atonement. I picked out a quote from each film that stuck with me and wrote it on a piece of torn page from a romance novel.

Each card also has an envelope inside where i'll write a little letter.

I'm not a crafty girl, but i put a lot of heart into each one, so i hope they like them. Here's a few sneak peeks of each one:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

inside: "Clementine: "Wish me a Happy Valentine's Day when you call. That'd be... nice!"

Romeo & Juliet.

The Notebook.
(front/inside/back)

one girl who's name i got listed When Harry Met Sally as her favorites...

so that one was easy

Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Atonement.
(front/inside/back)

this last one i made for M, just because.

"Questions of science, Science and progress, Do not speak as loud as my heart ."

text message from bestie a few weeks ago: "M, why is it called "The Scientist?"

i giggled because i have often wondered that very thing.

for you Marisa. xo

i must have listened to this version ten times today.

and i cried.

because that's what happens when i hear this song.

when i hear this voice.

when i hear these opening lines:

"Come up to meet you,
tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are.
I had to find you, tell you I need you,
Tell you I set you apart."

a·tone·ment [n] Amends or reparation made for an injury or wrong.

"Dearest Cecilia,

the story can resume. The one I had been planning on that evening walk. I can become again the man who once crossed the surrey park at dusk, in my best suit, swaggering on the promise of life. The man who, with the clarity of passion, made love to you in the library. The story can resume. I will return. Find you, love you, marry you and live without shame."

Fill in your answers.

1. If I weren't a public relations assistant (though currently unemployed in my new city) I'd love to be a writer for PEOPLE/Glamour magazine or do my dream of opening up a doggy daycare .

2. When I'm super upset I tend to overreact and cry while listening to music (husband-to-be knows if Coldplay's "Lost" is on, something's wrong) but usually calling my twin sister works (she makes everything better) .

3. My favorite thing about myself is my ability to open up to anyone. Feature: my Nationality- how many people can say they're half hispanic/half filipino?

4. If I found a $100 in the pocket of last winter's coat I'd spend it on etsy. A valentine's gift for Max .

5. Even though some people might consider this a flaw, I love my scars.

6. I love the way I feel when I look down at my left hand. I still can't believe i'm blessed with the love of a good man and my best friend .

7. I love my hair most when it's rumpled like bed head but works just right .

Happy Friday Lovies!!! you deserve this weekend. What are your plans?

We're expected up to 10 inches of snow, and since fiance is a meteorologist, he'll be working this weekend. I'll be snowed in, but I plan on practicing my craftiness while creating valentines for a couple of home made card swaps.

oh you beautiful people.

i loved M's celeb crushes (and that her Darling Husband's response is very much like my Darling Fiance's response) & seeing that me & Kate had similiar girl tastes (Rachel Bilson & Kate Hudson were next on my list if i went to ten) so i thought i'd show you my list of 5.

girl crushes:

Penleope Cruz. If i could look like anyone in the world, it would be Penelope. I loved her before she became who she is stateside. I call her my gf.

Marion Cotillard. Embodies every reason i wish i was french.

Jen Aniston. I fell in love with her even more after Brad Pitt. I saw grace. There's something humble about her.

"There is nothing you can control about love. Somebody once said, Everything you want in the world is just outside your comfort zone." - her interview in Vogue.

Shannyn Sossamon. beauty & style. i wish i saw her in more films.

Sienna Miller. I loved her Bardot look in "Alfie." If i could have anyone's wardrobe, it would be hers. (and her freckles)

boy crushes:

Robbie Williams. Hands down, i have coveted him since i was ten and he was in a british boyband. Darling Fiance already knows he would lose this battle (i kid, but he does). I love him & fear i will always be teeny bopper about him. If you've never heard of him, check out his song "Feel." It's one of my faves.

Jude Law. Bad boy meets Metro. Alfie / The Holiday.

Clive Owen. i think he would make one hell of a Bond.

James McAvoy. Atonement. Becoming Jane. Me and twinkie fight over him. There's something so regular about him... and my DF reminds me most of him.

Robert Pattinson. OF COURSE. Never before have i ever wished for a fictional vampire. He plays the part so well. Our modern version of James Dean.

who do you fancy?

ps. Johnny Depp should have been on my list. Especially after this video... this video i could watch 10x in a row.
