Let's never come here again because it will never be as much fun.

oh Friday, I am sooo delighted to see you! i feel so behind on life. my schedule next week is not as intense, thank God!

i was pretty excited about this week's Fill in the Blanks. Movies... they are life's greatest escapes. Below is one high on my que.

1. My absolute favorite movie of all time is "Braveheart." It's the one movie i wished i had seen on the big screen. It's such a beautiful film (and not just because of Mel Gibson) .

2. My favorite movie as a child was "Adventures in Babysitting"- me and my seesters watched it all the time! My brother Marco said he would put it on for us when he had to watch us.

3. The best movie quote ever is "Meet me in Montauk..." for everything it stood for in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind .

4. My favorite actress is Penelope Cruz, and not just because i call her my "girlfriend" but because she really is incredibly talented. Obviously we saw that in Vicky Christina Barcelona, but i loved her in Elegy & Don't Move. My favorite actor is Johnny Depp! Gorgeous & so talented. (though my first celebrity crush when i was 10 was Kevin Costner & i've always been a huge fan of Robert Downey Jr.)

5. The movie I could watch over and over is "Love Actually" - such a feel good movie with solid acting in the fun (Emma Thompson- brilliant) .

6. My favorite movie genre is indie (sundance anything) / foreign and then the good ole chick flicks .

7. A movie I'd like to watch this weekend is "Julie & Julia." I can't believe i still haven't seen it .

Play along over at Lauren's. I love films, so I can't wait to see what you love! (if you have a must-see movie, leave it below in the comments?)

sad day for my Mavericks.

"there's always next year..."

as a Mavs fan, i hate hearing this.

i might have cried a little at the end of the game when they lost.

our waitress was so sweet and said we were cute to be so dedicated. She even brought me a drink she named the "maverick" that was even blue (and strong, thank God- i needed it when they were so behind at the top of the game).

but what an amazing comeback.

for that, i am extremely proud.

remember the Dirk bobblehead i mentioned i had on my work desk?

Wish List: Gold.

this week has been so busy! I am super duper glad it's the middle of the week, aren't you?

today's wish list is inspired by my favorite line in a poem:

"All that is Gold does not glitter,

Not all those who wander are lost."

(this is a briefcase! fabulous is the girl doting this on her travels)

from the top: briefcase with peacock design from vintageveneration, 60s mid century hollywood regency cocktail glassware set from fabulous mess, leather owl silhouette in vintage frame from super duper things, Ares metallic platform heels from j.crew, no 214 gold filled bow necklace from dinosaur toes.

that last item is one of my friend danielle's, who also hosts wish list wednesday's on her blog. Play along & show what your heart wants this week.

ps. thank-you for all your sweet comments about my outfit yesterday. My team did win BIG time btw!!! SO AWESOME. now they just have to do it again tomorrow! xo

needed: ruby red slippers.

something you should know about me is my love for sports. I'm pretty girlish about a lot of things; even when it comes to sports. See what i wore to work today?

an old Dallas Maverick's playoffs t-shirt tucked into my bubble skirt. Why? because today is an important game for my favorite NBA team. They MUST win tonight against the Spurs (and two more nights) to advance. I have faith!!!

i love the Dallas Mavericks so much, i even named my bichon frise girl puppy Maverick. At my old job, I had Dirk's bobble head figurine on my desk and talked sports with all the computer guys (and even the Mayor). When I went home for my birthday back in March, one of my birthday gifts from my best friend John was a home game. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

#41 is my man!!! I saw THE CUTEST Dirk Nowitzki shirt that i MUST have. It said, "Tall DIRK and Handsome." How clever is that?

so tonight I'm rooting for my team and hope with all my heart they win.

oh, to be in Dallas tonight...

Stationary Swap + Postal Service Part Deux.

this being a mail time monday post, i realized i never shared what i got in Megan's Stationary Swap exchange. I love who i was paired up with- Molly (gorgeous!) from "my name is Yeh." She sent me the best mix of postcards (hello Johnny Depp!), hand made notes, polaroid cards, and even included a CD from Juilliard of her playing the drums. The pencils she included said funny things like, "give up and be a back-up dancer." what i loved most is that each paper pastry had a reason why she loved it-- a notecard from her favorite cafe in NY, or a hamburger card cos she mostly has a foodie blog, and penguins cos it's her school mascot.

Molly I loved everything!!! (and have already used quite a few things already)

I was so sad that silly me accidentally erased the pictures of my swap gift for her, but here are a few pics she kindly snapped for me. Her gift was the first one i tried using a record as packaging.

from moncy3, my place to get hand made envelopes

thanks for hosting such a fun swap Megan!

incoming:

^Blanca had emailed me asking for instructions on how to put a button on her blog with a link. I happily helped her and in return, she sent along some of her recent etsy purchase. I love them and insisted she didn't have to! again, i adore random kindness and will always try and return it to the world.

^lovely lauren nicole (she is my envelope making muse). Always the sweetest, she included a packet of vintage stamps & a wish token (a token to keep in my pocket/purse that holds an encouraging thought to brighten my day). Thank you L. Nicole! I'm going to really need it this week at work.

^thank-letter from sophia in Australia who got my swap gift for Cole's "favorite things" exchange. I was happy to get her because we had already exchanged letters before, but it was still fun to surprise her.

^this yellow box provided all the cheer i needed from a horrible day at training. Passion wrote the sweetest post on her blog about her package to me. I feel incredibly blessed. The gingersnap in the napkin was shamelessly eaten by me and Max in no time, they were delish and made with a hint of red pepper.

^each gift had a special meaning written on a piece of stationary and this necklace she made for me. Passion, you are a darling girl! really. Such a lovely surprise!!!! Not only were their goodies for me, but Passion's Mom knitted a Domo doll to send to my brother in Iraq. Isn't he beautiful!? i'm beyond touched that she would do that for me and my family.

my brother has a stuffed Domo that belongs to my 3 year old niece sophia that he takes with him everywhere and takes pictures of him in different locations.
Of course right now Domo is currently serving in Iraq as well. When I send this to Marco, I'm going to address it to Domo as well. Passion, he's going to LOVE it!!! thank-you sooo very much! I've sent something out your way today, so hopefully you'll get it this week. I can only hope you love it as much as i loved my package! xo

^postcrossing from Belarus (artwork from a famous belarus artist)

^from Brittan, who sent along the sweetest postcard, original water color (such a talented artist & currently working on illustrating a children's book) with a pin she thought i'd love. I do! thank you sooo much sweet friend! x

^from Zoe who sweetly asked to write me. We have a lot in common, me and her- twin sisters, we're vegetarians & she wrote on a piece of stationary that said la dolce vita. Love! just like her envelope.

^my "little seestur" Belen (love her stenciling and stickers! Plus she sent me the CUTEST card!), fellow Texan Tiffany, and Caiti.

outgoing:

^to my lovely VA girl friend Danielle who has a parrot called Flojo. Obviously you see why it reminded me of her! btw... lovies, she's hosting a fabulous giveaway with a photography i just LOVE! my go-to for notecards and my christmas cards last year.

^reply to Belen. See, Molly? i'm using lots of my stationary swap gifts!

^postcard to Summer's Dad. PLEASE, if you have a free minute, send him an encouraging letter. He is fighting a battle i KNOW he will win, but a happy letter is always a great healer of any bad day, isn't it? Summer told me he likes old cars so i thought this one was cute! ps. he also loves zero bars and gum! that went in my first little package for him. ha

^postcard to Brittan / Blanca

^postcard for erin (just reminds me of her sweet little boys)

^package of little thank-yous to Passion

^my "adore you all" giveaway winnings shipped to Polly in England / replies to Caiti & Zoe.

My mailbox is pretty happy and my life is blessed by wonderful friends around the world! thank-you xo

Sharing Sundays... Sam Harvey.

i'm really excited to share with you Lara, the beauty below who looks like sofia coppola.

Sam Harvey is the name of the company she runs along with her husband in Arizona. Both registered architects, together they design fashion handbags on a global scale drawing from their architectural heritage. Sam Harvey are the names of her grandfathers. Don't you just love that?

You can tell from their products that they are what they say they are-- passionate about the details, designing handbags with quality materials, unique color combinations and durability. Not only are they beautiful, trendy, and perfect sized totes (i'm already envisioning the lovely space i need for all the stuff i usually put in my purse PLUS my work material) but i can tell they are high quality - and lord knows i need my purses to last. :smiles:

I can tell you first hand how gorgeous their products are because remember the accessory swap? I was BEYOND BLESSED for Lara to get my name. Yesterday afternoon the postman brought me two yellow boxes with my name and Sam Harvey's logo. I could not believe how much she spoiled me!!! ONE of her beautiful purses would have been more than enough (seriously j'adore the fabrics and quality) but she also included three necklaces to go with my three Sam Harvey purses. I have never received anything so posh! they are BEAUTIFUL.

Box Canyon style in Bolt - Metallic Silver.

i love how the inside fabric adds great contrast and the side pockets are big enough for cell phones. The material is made so your purse won't slouch. Love!!! this one is already going to go to work with me tomorrow.

Crimped Chain Clutch in Metallic Blue.

I might have done a happy dance when i saw this beauty! Completely me, and tres chic. Interior pocket is constructed of silk and convenient for finding small stuff easily. Oh i'm in love!!! quite possibly the nicest thing i own now, THANK YOU LARA!!!

Box Canyon Style in Pagoda Blue.

softest quilted purse and just like the metallic one, interior pockets are designed to hold lip liner and pens upright for easy organization.

Can you believe how wonderful she is to have given me such beautiful pieces from her line?! There are not enough words to describe how thankful i am. Because on top of her gorgeous one of a kind bags, she sent me these beautiful hand made necklaces that remind me of the desert. The necklace with the white shells was made by an Apache Native American from Arizona, and the chunky beads is a Florie Amster, a local artisan in Phoenix. I am a huge fan of unique jewelry and these are exactly that.

On top of it all, Lara wrote me the nicest letter. How i got so lucky? I don't even know but I LOVE her products and just her genuine energy/style. I want to be like her... doing what I love and creating fashion that's in a class of it's own.

Lara, I am in LOVE with your products, your kindness, and your life!

With all my heart-felt thanks to you and your husband! xoxoxo

Please check out her lovely blog & her website. Isn't she amazing?
