all that matters.

I lost my phone today and cried like it was the end of the world.

I just wanted to have a good day off with my husband and somewhere along eating gelato at a food court (of all places) and walking to the parking lot, i couldn't place where i had left it. It was maybe 3 minutes (we hadn't even started the car yet when i realized it wasn't in my purse).

We backtracked, we called it... nothing. And though i knew there was no way anyone would turn it in, i was hopeful of honest people. It happens all the time at work, customers leaving something behind and we tell them we'll keep an eye out for it but between one another we know that there is no way anyone is going to turn in their iphone / purse / sentimental bracelet.

I can blame it on "pregnancy brain" but i was careless for a minute and someone walked off with my $300 + android. And i cried like it was the end of the world. What about my photos that i can't ever get back?

My husband took my hand and reminded me it was just a material thing that could be replaced. Then he rubbed my belly and said, "you're fine, we're fine."

How silly i am. Yes, it's frustrating, but it's not the end of the world, not even close. Thanks to insurance, i only had to pay a small portion of what i would have without it and they shipped a new one that will be ready for me to pick up after work tomorrow (yes, i'm currently living without my phone-- it's possible! ha).

But really, thanks to my husband for reminding me what's important in life.

i took this photo on January 19th, the night i found out i was pregnant. this is the night all my dreams came true.

she is all that matters.

Wanting to Know you Wens.

A week away from being 7 months pregnant (i know, where did the time go?!), it's hard to feel especially sexy.

Something that i've started doing that has helped is wearing sexy underwear. I might as well take advantage of these big boobs while i have them and before i have to transition to maternity bras (and even then, i'm going to be on the hunt for prettier ones).

And you know what lovies? it's working. Just today as I got out of the shower and was getting ready for work, my husband saw me changing and asked me if i was wearing that (talking about my black lacy number) underneath my clothes.

Yep.

oh the look on his face.

i may feel very pregnant but i still want to feel sexy, for me

photo

so what do you do for yourself (and a bonus for the husband/boyfriend) to feel sexy/beautiful?

wearing red lipstick? spraying perfume on your collar bone? ideas please.

never stop doing that.

At work last night as we were cleaning up the store, i was talking across the aisle to a coworker who was telling me about his girlfriend. I forget how, but he mentioned how he bought her flowers earlier that day just because. To which i said, "never stop doing that. never stop giving her flowers."

This is what I came home to last night. It made my heart so happy.

I'm honestly usually not a flowers type of girl (bring me a treat instead) but sometimes you need a gesture as beautiful as flowers.

note: reese's peanut butter ice cream cups were waiting for me in the fridge

What I got Husband For Father's Day.

Remember when i blogged about the Who's Your Daddy doll from Duke & June? Even though it may not officially be his first Father's Day, I told him I couldn't resist this being our daughter's first doll.

(he's wearing the suit/tie from when we got married)

Mandi is amazing-- another one of those etsy sellers i wish i could hug. In fact, I loved how my custom order turned out, me and twinkie are surprising my brother with one of him for our niece Marisol.

+ on a related note, i pray Max is the kind of Papa mine continues to be. I reread this post from a few Father's Days past, and it hurt my heart bittersweetly.

for baby's room.

Remember when i shared my nursery inspiration board? Here are two things i didn't add because i already purchased them for our baby's room.

My very first etsy purchase were these vintage blocks that spell lover. While dusting the mantle the other day, i noticed them and thought i need to get Felix's name. I am so glad i found vintage by alex keller. You can custom order any name and prices vary depending on number of blocks and type & size of blocks. You know those etsy sellers that you wish you could hug because they go above and beyond? I wanted to hug Alex. She was so helpful by sending me photo samples of different options to chose from. I also can't wait to use these blocks in our maternity shoot!

When i saw this deer bookend in my vintage soul sister Amanda's shop, i about fell over. I couldn't believe my luck in finding it. Felix already has quite the book collection and bambi will help keep them in place.

Wanting to Know you Wens.

The other day a message thread popped into my facebook inbox reminding me that my 10 year high school reunion was just around the corner. The two day event is in November (a month after i will have given birth to my first baby) and I feel a little weird about it all. I know a lot of it is because i can't believe it's been ten whole years.

Since I live out of town and will have a newborn baby to be caring for (!!! sorry, it still hits me at odd times), I dismissed the thought of actually going right away-- as soon as I saw the email. But then part of me wondered if i would regret it? (the other part of me reminded me i could just as well go to any of the two bars in town on a Friday night and it would very much be like said reunion)

Since i still have time to think about it, i wanted to hear your experiences.

high school me signing yearbooks. didn't you just love yearbook day? look how short my hair was!

Did you go to your 10 year high school reunion?
If you didn't, why didn't you?

& if you still have a few years to think about it, do you think you'll be attending yours?

+ i loved reading these answers to this wanting to know you question, related to high school
