overwhelmed by kindness.

On Friday, work threw me a baby shower and this post title is exactly how I felt. When my manager asked me if I had registered anywhere, I felt embarrassed to tell her that I hadn't because I wasn't planning on having a baby shower (I'm not even sure I'm going to make it home to have one in Wichita Falls).

Since moving here a January ago, my co-workers have really been my only friends here. The fact that work wanted to throw me this baby shower/potluck meant that much more

I wanted to share some photos from my instagram lens:

25 weeks and 5 days

presents came coming in - felix got so many adorable outfits/toys!

my co-worker Bertha made my baby shower corsage

delicious cake

Rachel and her pintrest fruit creation

actually, all my coworkers are creative : Diana made the sweet diaper cake and the bouquets of cookies for party favors. My big boss man Javier made a basket for me (top left) and hidden in the back was a nice bottle of wine. He joked that it was for celebrating the baby and then starting on the next one.

love all my girlfriends! 2nd photo is me and Sarah, Sarah who makes the jewelry i love Pretty You & Me. Above is me and Jessica, both of us are pregnant-- about a week apart though this is my first and this is her 4th.

little thank-yous i made the night before

I truly believe no matter what your job is, your co-workers make all the difference. It's been true of every job I've had.

I feel blessed by these friendships and so sweetly spoiled by them.

happy things with which to end the week.

♥ Hands down the happiest part of my past week was the birth of this beautiful little girl, my darling niece Marisol Luz Lechuga. Solie was born June 4th (same day as her Auntie Luisa's birthday!) and i can't get enough of her. She's my brother Marco and his girlfriend Christina's perfect baby girl and she's my favorite. I love that my daughter will be born only months apart from Solie because they are going to be bff cousins. :) *see more adorable photos on twinkie's happy list

Speaking of Solie's Mommy, look what she sent me! How did I ever live without the body pillow? now i don't even want to get out of bed. Thanks to my sis-in-law, i am adding this to the top of my pregnancy musts and i can't wait to do the belly bust. Most thoughtful/useful pregnancy gifts ever.

♥ A little pouch of celebration with instructions from Alyssa to throw in the air and dance, dance, dance!

♥ my friend Manny made me a Dexter inspired keychain

♥ A customer came into work with jewelry i fell in love with (i love religious pieces). I asked her where she got her bracelet because i wanted to buy one for myself and she told me her daughter made them-- even better for me, i love handmade! lovies, meet my new pieces of handmade jewelry (the top one is crochet with trinkets woven in)

the front of my 2nd bracelet and below is what's on the reverse side

♥ i stayed up late last night baking these cookies as a little party favor to bring to my work baby shower. i can't wait to share a few instagrams later! i am overwhelmed with kindness.

Sweet gifts for Felix from my sweetest (blog) girlfriends.

I've been meaning to share what my vintage soul sister Amanda sent our baby girl : the cutest vintage book, along with a bag she made. She wrote this note, "When I made this bag I pictured fun beach days with your love but now I picture toys, baby wipes, and fun snack for a day at the park with baby Maxham!" Not only is Amanda a sewing goddess, she's a gifted artist as well. She included her watercolor illustration, Swimming in Words for Felix's nursery. It's beautiful!

My bestie Marisa sent Felix her first teddy bear (so soft! love those floppy arms and legs) and the sweetest note. I can't wait to hang the "f" in her nursery.

Each gift so thoughtful and perfect, just like each girl XO

Wanting to know you Wens.

Have you ever gone on a blind date? or gone on a date with someone you met through the internet?

I did both with a guy named Travis. Remember myspace? We met on there. We had friends in common so I wasn't worried he would turn out to be someone crazy.

I can remember how thrilling it was when i'd see his name in my inbox. It was exciting exchanging getting to know you emails with hints of future things we would do together.

Countless messages later, we decided to finally meet and go out to dinner. I remember being so nervous waiting for him to ring my doorbell. He was as cute and as fun as he was in his emails.

We'd meet up here and there and had one hot night in the back of his new truck---though we never became anything serious (bad timing).

Travis was my only experience of both meeting someone off the internet/blind date and what a good one it was. In fact, we're still facebook friends and awhile back he texted to congratulate me on my pregnancy.

It made me smile, just like his emails back in college.

what about you? & if you haven't done either, would you?

Sharing Sundays... nursery inspiration.

There are so many things i would love for Felix's nursery, that i decided to make a pinboard of homemade goodness of everything my heart is coveting.
2. glass jars from danger cat
3. sweetest embroidery hoop from bo.peep.baby
4. cloud mobile from iroiro shop (her papa is a tv meteorologist so it seems fitting)
5. handmade plush toy from sleepy king
7. vintage corona typewriter personalized print by jo bozarth (to write a love letter to Felix)
8. love you nightlight from owly shaddow puppets (which i first saw thanks to Holly who bought one in white for her baby boy-- we are due around the same time!)

happy things with which to end the week.

♥ my friend Andrea had her baby Andrew last weekend (blue carnations for boy!) and meeting him & holding his tiny body -- i just can't wait to meet our baby girl. Isn't he handsome? it was so much fun to catch up with a girlfriend and get helpful details from another first time mama.

♥ this is what the birthday boy came home to. Husband prefers pecan pie to cake-- which is just fine by me. If only i could have pie for breakfast every morning... *LOML is what he calls me in his texts- love of my life

♥ when stella bear lies on me, she always gazes up at me like this and i melt every time! she's finding my belly bump extra comfy these days.

♥ my 24 week baby bump!

♥ my co-worker bought these for me and she not only made my day but they were delish! it's always the sweet little things with me (i do prefer snacks to flowers

♥ hearts. i had been on the search for heart shaped sunnies for like ever. i'm glad Ezgi spotting these while walking around Pier 39 in San Francisco because they are my current fave.

♥ Auntie Marianne surprised us with the CUTEST baby saddle shoes you ever did see! They were in my etsy faves, and that twinkie girl knew how much i would love them and sent them my way. I'm in love!

♥ also making the list, going to see this movie instead of my usual Pilates workout (because sometimes- most times- a date with your husband is much more exciting than the gym) and this movie couldn't have been more perfect for this time in my life right now.
