Wanting to Know you Wens.

I was excited to pick it up Mia Farrow's memoir, What Falls Away on my last used bookshop date but I'll be honest... it had more to do with reading about Woody Allen in her own words.

And yet, i'm far from that chapter in her life and i can't put her words down.

on Frank Sinatra:

"...I thought what a beautiful face he had, full of pain and somehow familiar."

"It might have been right then, as our eyes met, that I began to love him; I felt a column of light rising inside me, pulling particles from dark dead corners.... And when I could look again, behind his eyes was no stranger. Again the feeling of recognition took me by surprise." -page 86 - 88

do you ever read biographies? do share some you've read below please!

I do. I remember reading Shirley Temple's autobiography and being so intrigued by it.

I loved Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. And one of my favourites is My Own Two Feet by Beverly Cleary. It inspired me.

I need to write you another letter soon!

PS: So excited that you mentioned your ornament swap on FB yesterday. Whee! Can't wait. Did I tell you in a letter that I've already picked up a few little things for it? I have! Fa la la la la, la la la la!

I've read a couple of autobiographies lately - Paul O Grady, who is a comedian and tv presentor over here who has had such a fascinating life and his description of his relationship with his Mother is amazing. I love him.

I've also been reading Sir David Attenborough's one and that is fascinating, I knew nothing about him before. I love him too lol.

I think I need to read more of them.

I've read Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Which I know isn't a REAL biography, but it's written like one! And I read one about a Victorian lady in Africa (it's killing me I can't remember the name), and I just. . . do not like biographies. I'm a big dialogue reader. I mean, I will skip entire paragraphs of a books just to get to some dialogue. I know it's awful, but that's the part I like. I really don't care about the shrubbery.
