happy things this week is replaced by things i turn to when instead i'm sick.

yesterday i woke up with a horribly sore throat... the kind that makes you afraid to swallow. the kind that although i'm a girl who loves her coffee... rushed to turn the kettle on, and haven't sipped anything but tea in the last 24 hours.

♥ my tea set
♥ though it's still a bit warm to pull them out of the closet just yet-- being sick means i've got the nasty chills and if i'm going to feel awful and not bother with make-up (hence, my face not showing in said photo), i'm going to wear my knee high boots to look like i feel just a little better.

♥ and the only reason i dared think of venturing out of my pjs and bed was i was seriously craving a roasted tomato soup bread bowl from Corner Bakery. i swear i'm the only sick girl who keeps her regular appetite.

♥ dates with my netflix : loved Charlotte Gainsbourg's Jane Eyre portrayal (she is a girl crush of mine). Jane Eyre has always been one of my favorite classics, especially when it helped me through this dark time

♥ and i probably shouldn't write about this cos my darling husband might be embarrassed but... i haven't showered since wens. and knew it would probably make me feel better if i did. He might have washed my hair and combed and blow-dried it for me after i told him that's what my Momma used to do when we were little, especially when we were sick.

that... that is real love. or i'm terribly spoiled and helpless when i feel this sick.

Happy Friday Lovies!!! what happy things are you ending the week with? (i promise the usual happy things will return next week...)

+please leave a link below if you do a post-- i'd love to share in your happiness
xo

or what makes you feel better when you're sick? seen any good movies on instant netflix? i fear this sickness will last til the weekend... your suggestions please!

You are just spoiled rotten, aren't you?? haha My mom wouldn't come near me when I was sick. I didn't see her for two weeks when I was in kindergarten because I had the flu. My dad would bring me food and that was about it. haha It's funny how different people's lives/parents are. :)
I hope you feel better soon, sweetheart. THAT SOUP BOWL LOOKS AMAZING THOUGH. I'm so hungry. My friends are supposed to be coming around 6 and I'm going to make what we've come to call fat kid casserole. Sour cream, cream of chicken soup, two tubes of ritz crackers, butter, and chicken. It's amazingly delicious. :) :)

So sad you are sick. :( And yes, I do believe you're the only girl who keeps her normal appetite, haha! I do love some tomato soup in a bread bowl, though. YUM. I want that for dinner tonight! I haaaaate being sick, but I love curling up in bed with a book or tv and allowing myself to sleep till I feel better. :)

Washing your hair = so sweet!

Oh Micalela, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well and I hope you make a speedy recovery. Lots of honey, lemon juice and hot water drinks would do the trick (and some garlic, if you can stomach it!)
You know what, my husband washes my hair AND even shaves my legs when I'm not well. How wonderful and lovely is that? Two great blokes we've got hey? x

Micaela, I hope you feel better! Perhaps my mix CD will make it to you tomorrow so at least you can groove to some tunes. In terms of good being-sick movies, I totally recommend the documentaries Spellbound and Mad Hot Ballroom and also watching old Warner Brothers cartoons from the 1930s and 1940s. Also, my when-I'm-sick go-to drink is hot water with honey, lemon juice, fresh ginger, and just a teeny tiny bit of cayenne pepper. Does wonders for the throat!

Oh feel better soon!! I am one of those people that when I'm sick I want to be left alone. In fact I get kidney stones every now and then - where I need to just shut the bedroom door and go to sleep.

My happy things this week - was getting a really nice pair of tan moccasin like shoes at the vintage store, getting more watercolor supplies, and a bonus is I have successfully taught myself how to knit!!

sorry to hear you've been ill. Hope all is good and well. I'm been feeling unwell on lots of fronts recently and the things that make me feel better are: kind/supportive words, hugs, nice tidbits of food that I fancy, films in bed, connecting with lovely people online :)

Take care,

I hope you are feeling better now! That was very sweet of your husband to do that for you.

When I am sick, all I need is Vicks Vapour rub, a bunch of movies and congee to eat. Also it's nice to have all the lights off and curl in bed with a warm pair of flannel pjs.
