A new adventure!

If you follow me on instagram (@dolcemicaela), you may have noticed this vague post where my husband and I celebrated with a pizza picnic on our living room floor.

Well pizza is pretty much my favorite food ever. I mean look at this deep dish pizza my husband made me. Lovies, do you see what he wrote on it in cheese?

My husband was offered a job in Elmira, NY. We are moving basically across country to what will feel like a whole new world compared to our home in El Paso, TX. Everything is moving so fast! Chip left Friday with our dogs and made it to safely this evening {thank-you God!}

Felix and I miss them already. Of course, we will be busy packing the rest of our home until the movers get here on July 8th. I'm so lucky my mom is here to help us out. Until our stuff gets to NY and we find a new house, Fe and I will be staying with my parents. Chip wanted us to enjoy family time since he knows I am already dreading being so far away from them. They're going to miss Felix so much!

But they're happy for us and for our new adventure. We're pretty excited for changing leaves in the fall and rain! Gosh, I miss rain.

Has anyone been to Elmira? It's a little over 4 hours to NYC-- we're already daydreaming about weekend getaways.

El Paso, you've been good to us! Thank-you for giving me life long friends. For an unbelievable view to the city from our backyard. Mostly, for being the place where we started our little family.  You've been so good to us. xo

Oh wow! You'll only be 6 hours away from Montreal :) I only get there occasionally but just saying, it's such a great place to visit (my hometown!) Congratulations on your new adventure.

Wow, Micaela, how exciting for you! I hope everything goes well :)

I always forget how BIG America is - I was looking at the map but I'd never have guessed Elmira was 4 hours from New York. I'm starting to think your states are bigger than England :)

Congrats on hubby's new job! My Sister is in Ithaca, NY and I love visiting her there. I always make her take me wine tasting in the Finger Lakes Area. So fun! I wish you all the best in your new adventure!!!

Congratulation to the hubby and to you Mrs. Maxham! New York sounds so exciting! Can't wait for your upcoming posts, you always see the positive in everything, one of the many qualities I admire about you.
My only complaint is why oh why couldn't it be California?! Haha

So happy/excited for you all!
Confession: when I read you were moving ALL the way to NY, my heart skipped and I grew teary eyed because you will be so far from me now. I suddenly realized we've never actually met... How crazy is it that I totally forgot this important detail- clearly I have become so invested in you and your family. M, I know only magical days are ahead for you. It is definitely no coincidence Felix is born and shortly after you are moving- new beginnings. You three are literally creating a life together. And an absolutely beautiful one at that.

Love to you, and many happy thoughts! Safe travels. May the move be kind to you.

Hi Micaela! This is Maria your postcard swap partner! I am SO SORRY I haven't gotten you the first card out yet--time escaped me and I thought the first one was due the 28th! Rest assured I'll get you both of them out (one of them today) and the other on time! It's crazy you are moving to Elmira! I'm 45 minutes from there! Very very pretty area. :) Maybe we'll run into each other sometime! :)

I can't believe you are moving again. You are such a good wife for not making a fuss about moving to wherever your husband's job takes you and your family.

I hope the move goes smoothly. You are now going to be living closer to me.
