Exactly a year ago today my dreams came true.

I remember wearing red lips to the grocery store when I picked up two pregnancy tests.

I can't believe a year ago today, I took a little test and it said PREGNANT. I wanted to tell the whole world right away but I remember being terrified of jinxing my fragile happy secret. I already wanted to keep my baby safe and close to me.

I did write a simple facebook status (because it's not official until it's on fb right? *wink)

I wanted to remember it. To remember exactly when I realized my prayers were answered.

And seeing it now makes me :)

Felix Maxham, you're my dream girl. I thank God for giving me you xo

Claire, remember when you sent me a text asking me if I was pregnant after seeing my status? I will never forget that either, how you just knew because you know me so well.

overwhelmed.

fragile tape by misterrob

pulling an all nighter with husband packing up the rest of our house...

i can't believe the movers come tomorrow.

i think it finally hit me that we're moving when i had to say good-bye to my co-worker this morning. and then later when i turned in my work key and said good-bye to the puppies.

i cried as i drove away from work because it hit me all at once.

thank-you for all your congratulations and sweet comments on our moving announcement! i promise to keep you posted (and i know you'll be dying to hear about how my meet up with this beautiful girl goes!!!) but for now, i gotta get back to tape and boxes. i miss you all already!!! xo

another thank-you... I can't believe even in the moving/holiday madness, i somehow managed to get 500 followers! husband pointed that out to me happily and reminded me of his great idea to host a giveaway. I've already started rounding up my favorite things! very exciting. i'm in good company with each of you lovies, this i know. xoxoxoxo!

Two Things i Love... Around my Home.

i picked up this book at an estate sale and though i remember it being pricey, i had to have it; fragile spine and all. 270 pages of iconic Monroe. Stolen moments. Candid expressions. And the above; a gorgeous series.

Sharing Sundays... Life.

i want to introduce you to one of my college girlfriends, Jess of Life. If you haven't visited her blog, you absolutely MUST. i have always always been in awe of her writing. It's the kind of way i wish to write: with heart, raw emotion, and in the daze- clarity. Like this post of hers? touched my heart.

Even through relationships, moves, jobs, weddings, babies... we've always kept in touch with the girls we met in college, through the Mass Communications Department. Here we were a few years ago in Downtown Ft. Worth celebrating our gf Adrian's bachelorette party. I am so glad we've kept in touch all these years.

From the very beginning, the first thing i KNEW about Jess was her passion for music. Lyrics are sacred. She belongs in the woodstock era and her dream job is to write for Rolling Stone. She already made one dream of hers come true, to be a Radio DJ.

She is my small town country girl who dreams NYC, loves tattoos, is hopelessly smitten with her boyfriend who she calls "love" (and because i've known Jess for so long i know how deserving of this happiness she is. but because i've known her so long, i also know she is scared of the feeling that sometimes love makes her fragile), loves her dog children, loves the blogging community, and just bought her first house!

And she shares it all on her blog, Life.

I think you should meet my beautiful friend.

Coody Bug, i love you!!!! happy hour (cosmopolitans please!!!) SOON. i miss you xoxo

He learned from the Great and became Greater.

it was a beautiful beautiful memorial.
that remembered MJ the way many have forgotten over the last years... as a person.
as a father (paris, you broke my heart).

Brooke Shield's eulogy almost said it best, with her example borrowed from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's "Little Prince." Shields said many knew him as the King, but he was really like the Little Prince.

"What moves me so deeply about this sleeping little prince is his loyalty to a flower--the image of a rose shining within him like a flame within a lamp, even when he's asleep... And I realized he was even more fragile than I thought. Lamps must be protected. A gust of wind can blow them out."

"Eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart.
Michael always saw with his heart."
