Toys of my childhood.

Now that I have a daughter, I'm always in search of toys of my childhood. How I wish we hadn't moved around a lot when we were younger (our dad was in the Air Force) because we probably would have kept all of our toys. Along with my Jem, She-Ra, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears and Poochie (ooh and the water ring toss game!) toys, I wish so much I could pass along these childhood favorites to Felix:

Marianne and I had all the Rainbow Brite dolls

Remember the stickers that came with the My Little Pony Dream Castle? And all the different kind of My Little Ponies like the twinkle eyed pony and the petite pony collection.

The original Polly Pocket

Remember these? Its symbol and nails disappear with water.

Cupcake dolls! Didn't they smell good?

Wow. Seeing these, brought back so many memories!

What were some of your favorites?

My Mum kept all our fisher price toys and my polly pockets - just in case... bless her.

I used to have a few of those water toss things, in different sizes and colours though, how funny, I'd totally forgotten.

I had those fashion plates! I use to spend hours with them.
You will be happy to know most of our childhood toys are back, just with a new look.

LITE BRIGHT!!! loved that. i also liked hungry hippos, trouble (my fav), this record player thing that had plastic records by fisher price and my monchichi but it was a fake one because we couldn't afford the real one.

let's not forget the all-time popular cabbage patch kids!

I'm pretty sure you're quite a bit younger than me, so it's fascinating to see how long some of these toys were popular. I completely forgot about Fashion Plates. :)

After coming across some of my favs on Pinterest, I recently started a board: http://pinterest.com/spunkyone/childhood-memories/.

THOSE FASHION PLATES!! I haven't seen those in years!! I still have most of my Polly Pockets. I absolutely loved how tiny they were!

Ack! I love all of these. I had a cabbage patch doll and I had one of those cupcake dolls. I might have had the yellow one in that photo. And I love Polly pockets too. I also had fashion plates.

Too bad the modern Polly Pockets are that tiny anymore. x

Oh I loved all of these! I still have some stored in my mother's attic. My faves from your list were the pretty kitties and the fashion plates! I haven't seen them in a long time! :) Great memories!

I still have my Rainbow Bright and Twinkle Toes dolls as well as my Cabbage Patch. I guess being a packrat helps sometimes :) I know we got rid of my Fashion Plates and Lite Bright though. You would have been amazed at how many My Little Ponies I had, I don't remember playing with them much, they were all given to me when a friend grew out of them. Did you ever have a Popples? I had a few that I loved.

Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, Pound Puppies, Snuggles, Barbies and Cabbage Patch Kids...these were some of my toys growing up. I wish I kept them all but my parents split and we moved around a lot so everything either got lost or sold :(
