Etsy really is my go-to place for any occasion that calls for a gift. I thought I would share my last couple of purchases that went out to sweet friends.
To me, nothing is better than handmade. I believe in sharing Etsy shops where I wanted to hug the shop owners in person. I love when they go that extra mile-- like when you tell them it's a gift going directly to the recipient and ask if they could include your note. Not only will they gladly do that, but they'll put it on pretty paper. Things like that make me want to recognize these shops (and again, hug their owners!) and always want to buy from Etsy.
For Christmas, I sent Lauren a plush Narwhal (two things she loves) from Pink Chocolate. Chanel makes her plushies by hand and without a pattern. Because of that, I couldn't believe how reasonable the prices were for great handmade quality.
For our friend Phoenix's birthday, my twin sister Marianne and I purchased this beautiful embroidered pillow from Sincerely Micah. Phoenix's husband calls her bunny so we thought this pretty would be perfect for their home.
Remember my ornament swap? (the one I swore I would post a showcase about and then motherhood happened? I promise to showcase them in November during sign-ups. Ugh forgive me!) Christine was so understanding when her swap partner had something come up and wasn't able to send her something in time. I wanted to surprise Christine, just like when she made these ornaments for me. I sent her this cute vintage Santa ornament from Sweetgyrl and Pops.
I asked Anne (the shop owner) if she would include a note for me and look at the notecard Anne sweetly printed it on.
For our future sister-in-law's birthday in January, Marianne and I played detective and surprised Christina with this open back yoga top that was in her Etsy favorites. Sexy for her 30th birthday and practical since she's a yogi. It's from Lychee Grove where you can find handmade, hand dyed fitness/loungewear apparel.
Another Etsy and shop owner to love is Maria of Minimalista Clothing. Marianne and I sent this Frida Kahlo onesie to our friend Jessy, who just had her first baby, a beautiful girl named Frida. Maria included our note on her pretty stationary.
It's these little touches that make me want to shop handmade always.
Don't get me wrong, I love me some Target. But when it comes to getting something for a one of a kind friend, they deserve something one of a kind.
What was your last purchase(s) from Etsy? (even if it was a gift for yourself, I wanna know!) I'm always on the lookout for new Etsy shops to love.

The plush creature was made without a pattern? Wow. I certainly couldn't even do that WITH a pattern. I think my last Etsy purchases were for Christmas. I bought lots of Christmas cards from there. Several of them were from Julie Ann.
I bought my husband for Christmas a family penny keychain with the names of our kids engraved in a penny of their birth year.

Oh how I love etsy, I wish I could buy everything I wanted.
I bought myself a handmade robe from https://www.etsy.com/listing/113817661/custom-floral-bridesmaids-gift-robes-set?
Mine looks like the one in the top picture on the right. It is stunning!
Etsy definitely is my go-to for fun, unique, handmade, or vintage items. Sellers take the time to make their products that it is so worth purchasing. Vintage selers are selective when they list items that it's pretty much like going to an antique shop. And, I just want to say that I LOVE MY SANTA ORNAMENT that it is not in the Christmas storage box in the closet and it's actually displayed in the living room (husband thinks I'm nuts, but that's ok). Don't worry it'll be on the tree this year but it's too darn cute to be stashed away. Plus, it came from you and Felix :)
What great finds! I am in LOVE with that Frida onsie! Etsy purchases are so much more fun. :)
My last purchase from Etsy is a secret! Until it arrives on your doorstep, that is...
xoxo
great finds! that yoga top is super fun!
Oh wow, these are such gorgeous and thoughtful gifts, and it's so awesome that Etsy makes that possible. Canadian shipping is so pricy, but I ordered an Etsy baby shower surprise for an American friend (those baby blocks you posted about!) and I really loved knowing she was getting something one-of-a-kind and the thought that went into it by the seller was amazing... I'll definitely have to turn to Etsy more often, and just not for my own personal lusting :)
The last purchase I made from Etsy was a bracelet from Oia Jules. But now I am going to have to slow down a bit because shipping to Canada is ridiculous. I might just wait until I go to visit my mom in Cali to buy a crap load of stuff from Etsy shops.
My last purchase from Etsy was your mug :) But I'm with you on the handmade, I love it! I usually forget to plan that far ahead, but when I do, I love the gifts I give.
