say it film style for valentine's day.

last year i participated in a fun valentines day swap where the emphasis was use your best grade school art class moves.

i didn't have time this year to sign up for a swap, but that didn't stop me from busting out my art class moves. i decided to take advantage of the winter storm that kept me indoors and make homemade valentines for my amazing girlfriends.

as claire wrote in her valentines card to me, "Friendships like yours are why i love Valentine's Day."

i stayed with my theme last year of films of love that are my favorites {including my favorite quote from each}, but since this year i knew each girl personally, i picked movies that reminded me of them.

*sorry, photo heavy!

^for my best friend Marisa : Woody Allen's Annie Hall

 ^for April : Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind {and yes, i realize i misspelt my most favorite line from a movie... for all the weight that simple phrase holds. AAAARGH}

^for Claire : The Way We Were

^for Lauren Nicole : her favorite movie, Across the Universe

 ^for Erin : Love Actually

^for Kary : Dirty Dancing (our fave!)

^this one was different from all the rest in that it isn't a movie but if you know Jessie, it's perfectly her. My college gf has a music soul so for her i made a Yoko & Lennon valentine.

i had so much fun making these! printer + glue stick + stickers + an old romance novel to tear out pages + glitter and baker's twine...

all to tell each girl how much they mean to me.

Girrrrl, I got this out of my mailbox yesterday and was with a group of friends and they were all suuuuuuuuper jealous. ;) Mine's super duper perfect. It's on my refrigerator. :D How did you pick which girl got which movie? It's fun seeing which movies you picked, and I think mine is perfect, but it makes me sad that it's so perfect, because that's such a sad/happy/bipolar movie.

april, because i knew you would understand a film like that.. a valentine that's "unconventional" -- because i tend to be that way... messy even in love. So don't be sad, because it's a film close to my heart and out of all of the films... my favorite. I used to know exactly who i would say that quote inside your card to...

i don't know him anymore, but i had never felt something so strongly.

i knew that was kary & lauren's favorite movies and me and m talk about woody allen plenty of times. "The Way We Were" is both happy and sad but we are KKKATIE girls... i almost gave that one to you because when we love, "we're deaf blind and dumb" as Barbara Streissand so perfectly put it :) and let's not forget that SATC episode when they talk about this epic movie.

and Erin got "love actually" because it's a british film and she's my british bird :)

thanks for asking me though, it's fun to explain my randomness!

maddy, that's super sweet of you to say!! truly, made my day.

You know I'm not one to celebrate Valentine's Day (or did you know that?) so getting any sort of card for this holiday was a shock for me- I can't remember the last time someone sent me one! I wanted to send some to friends this year just to let a few people know how much they mean to me (you included!) but a chaotic schedule got the best of me.
I LOVED my card. John and Yoko couldn't have been any better for me. And I love that you broke your 'film' theme for me- makes me feel special! ;) I must say, I'm a fan of all the movies you used, though. Especially 'Across the Universe' and 'The Way We Were'. Us KKKKatie girls have to stick together. :)
Love you! Thank you for making me feel so special and loved!
