Benevolent Postcard: February 2010

My February postcard for the Benevolent Postcard Society came all the way from the Netherlands. Marianne (she spells her name just like like twinkie, which automatically made me smile) made this card for me. It's beautiful isn't it? by far, my favorite BPS postcard & that had a lot to do with the lovely message inside.

Marianne from Brunssum, thank-you!

I had two outgoing BPS postcards for February. Lori asked if there were any members who wouldn't mind sending an extra one, and of course i volunteered.

the first one was a postcard from Cori Kindred's love series.

and the second one was one of these really neat recycled vintage record postcards from Violettdrakt.

if you're a BPS member, how's your mailings going?

Thank-you Diana for being the fabulous photographer/friend that you are. I was delighted to use one of your notecards for my December BPS mailing. I hope she loves the image as much as i do.

Benevolent Postcard: Nov. 2009

Sweet November, i got your postcard while i was on my love trip. i thought it was kitsch.

Since it's pretty antique, i enclosed it in an envelope (which i know, may not be as much fun... but i put a stamp on it just the same to make it feel authentic) because i didn't want to chance it getting ruined before it got to you in Canada.

parts of my message:

The front is a Sky Lounge (wouldn't that era have been neat?) and reminded me of my first "adult moment," where i felt grown up. I was traveling to Italy alone and it was both scary and exhilarating. I share that little story with you, Julia.

Today at lunch, i received my November BPS postcard.

THANK-YOU Michelle!!!!

your acrylics are gorgeous!

i loved how she described painting as her first love:

"As with most love affairs, I am continuously seduced."

Benevolent Postcard Received: October 2009

i didn't get my September (fingers crossed it could possibly still be in the mail), but I got my October today.

whoever you are in AZ, thank you!!!!
i got it during my lunch break and snapped this pic of it back in my office, next to our halloween decorations.

how did you know i was a daydreamer?

"You may say i'm a dreamer, but i'm not the only one. I hope someday you join us and the world will be as one."
- Lennon

here's the October i sent out...

i hope she loved it as much as i did sending it to her.

Benevolent Postcard: Oct. 2009

i just sent this off to my October...

what i wrote on the back was something i read awhile back that stuck with me. i thought it went well with the postcard. here's a little of it:

"I don't know when the boys began to walk away with

parts of myself in their sticky hands;

when loving became a process of

subtraction...."

Benevolent Postcard: Sept. 2009. First Mailing.

Happy Mailing Day!!!!
i hope you took my advice here lovies, because then you will be as excited as i am about today!!!

I've excitedly exchanged emails with M, Katy, and Belen about receiving our first pick. {we're such cute girls, wanting to make sure we are somewhat on the same page because we are EXCITED to be part of this project- er, society!!!}

Polly in the UK, i'm so glad to have received you for my first one.

Note to self: Postcards don't hold as much space as i thought. Polly, forgive me for the novella!

so here's the postcard i sent & a hint of the backside:

a bit of what i wrote in my message:

"On a rainy day, go to the nearest book shop. Pick out "Happens Every Day," a memoir by Isabel Gillies and turn to pg 10. Towards the end you'll find my favorite poem. It's my gift to you, Polly."
