the sweetest package for felix.

My vintage soul sister Amanda sent Felix the sweetest gifts handmade with love. All of it was every bit of wonderful with a personal touch, which is just the kind of heart Amanda has. 

{i mean she even included my favorite cookies (milanos!) and her favorite cookies + the tea she swears caused her water to break when she was past her due date with her son Odyn. These are the things i love, the stories behind the gift}

i can't get over these bibs! the fabric she chose for the front and back and the embroidered F-- you just know the time and love she put into the details for my baby girl.

Picturing felix's little feet in her hot pink Maryjanes warms my heart.

Probably my favorite gift was the baby quilt Amanda made, because of the story she shared. Please read about "fuzzy" on her blog post *and also to see both sides of the quilt (my photo is it folded over) and better photographs of everything. I can't wait to take Felix's newborn photos on this quilt!

I know sonogram photos are hard to make out and are probably only exciting to the parents-to-be and their families. Honestly, I wasn't sure what I thought about 3D ultrasounds (i was secretly afraid i would think my baby looked "creepy") but my brother's girlfriend Christina (who has been my go-to person in this pregnancy) insisted it was worth it and I'm glad I went. It's pretty amazing to see the movements you feel. And her face...

It's hard to believe how fast time is flying. I remember when i first fell in love with this little bean and now we get to meet our daughter in 49 days.

Wanting to Know you Wens.

(or the post i hope my daughter never sees)

By now, i hope you've all had the pleasure of seeing Magic Mike. I meant to write this Wanting to Know you post ages ago, right after the movie came out. Alas, i went out of town and now it's a bit untimely but the upside of that is maybe all of you reading this has seen it. 

I actually wasn't going to go because i wasn't sure who to go with (i can only drag my husband to so many movies - i.e. all the twilight movies thus far) and i told twinkie this on the phone one day driving home from work. Her response? something i completely forgot about : "this coming from the girl who was asked to go home with a stripper?!" 

it was settled. i immediately called up two of my girlfriends and we had a girl date planned. 

My Magic Mike experience (my 1st and only) was when I was 18 and a bunch of girlfriends and i went to see some male dancers. It was as fun as Magic Mike portrayed it to be -- and just for you readers, i'll share my crazy stripper story! 

i'm pretty small chested (even pregnant, i don't have these huge boobs lindsay misses) so i could get away without wearing a bra. The hottest stripper was also the host and his stage name was Romeo. He picked me up and put me in a chair and in the middle of dancing on me, he knelt down and put his head under my shirt ... how was he to know i wasn't wearing a bra? 

OH MY GOSH, i was so embarrassed! (of all places to be embarrassed... i know). my girlfriends were all laughing because they knew what he was seeing.

And that my friends, is my Magic Mike story.

and it's not just the 3 x a night i have to go pee (thanks baby girl) but because husband is out of town visiting his family and picking some things up they're sweetly giving us for our baby.

i've never lived alone, so every little sound the house makes, makes me jump.

a few days without him makes me certain of this-- i never wanna sleep without my husband next to me.

i woke up to this email from him this morning:

miss you.

I wanna come home, not here.  home is where you are.



one more sleep until we're next to each other again, and i can't wait!

my week with Marisol.

It always feels like the day after Christmas whenever I have to say bye to my family again for a little while. We had the most amazing time at my brother Marco & Christina's house - my stomach hurt from laughing so much (baby girl probably thought she was on a roller coaster) and I felt like my heart grew twice in size holding my beautiful niece Marisol. 

I am so in love with her that missing her right now hurts {I can't even begin to fathom what it will be like when I meet my own daughter in September}. She is perfect. 

It was love at first sight when we arrived in Arizona. We didn't care that we were tired/hot from the drive over. (also? there's nothing like seeing your parents with their grandchild)

I hope i'm the Mama Christina is (she is everything we prayed for when it came to Marco). I'm so thankful for the practice I got holding/feeding/changing Sollie.

 now that we live in different cities, i can't get enough of seester time when we're together

the Lechuga girls (who couldn't stop "fighting" to hold Marisol - look we all have to touch her even in this photo-- cracks me up auntie Maddie is holding her foot!)

I've never had a surprise party... until now. My favorite (that's what I call Christina) planned a surprise baby shower for me with my family and lovies, I was COMPLETELY surprised! I couldn't stop crying of happiness and love for all they did for me and Felix. They completely spoiled me! Felix has a matching stroller/carrier set, pack 'n play, and a cove swing to name a few gifts. 

i think my expression says it all! ♥ BEST. SURPRISE. EVER! 

and because you can't really see my nearly 31 week baby bump in my baby shower pic, here it is in all it's glory above. i think felix was happy with all the good eating, thanks to Christina & her family, plus my Momma. 

Marco & Christina, thank-you for sharing your beautiful family and home with us! (too bad older sissy BriBri doesn't like taking photos) I already can't wait to see you guys again when Felix arrives. I pray she's just as beautiful and sweet as your Sollie girl. love you all xoxo

MY PARENTS ARE HERE!!!

I'm so excited to have them and even better-- tomorrow we'll drive over to Phoenix to my brother Marco & Christina's house where we'll stay a week all together (twinkie & maddie will fly in on Wednesday). 

We can't wait to meet their beautiful baby girl Marisol, who I'm already so in love with!

♥ there's nothing that will melt my heart quicker than husband buying gifts for our little girl. He said you hardly see "Papa" (which is so true) and the Dale... She's Dale to his Chip. 

♥ speaking of that husband of mine, making me breakfast before i head off to work - it's the little things.
