Look at my little gappy baby! It kills me her front teeth are coming in that way (I've never seen that!) and though I think it's pretty cute now, I hope it has nothing to do with how her real teeth will come in. And those delicous thigh rolls!

Tonight is the premier of the final season of DEXTER-- OMG! I can't even believe it. Of course, I had to dress Felix for the occasion ;) not that she will be watching. She's even holding my doll head keychain my friend Manny gave me.

Felix can't wait to go swimming with her Aunties in just a couple of weeks. My husband really did not want me to buy this, but I couldn't resist (especially because my swimsuit is a monokini too!).

All dressed up and ready to go see her friends at our library's story time. The shoes she's wearing are pretty special and have such deep meaning to me (thank-you Claire! she gave them to me after I told her about a heartbreaking decision I made once upon a time).

20/52-23/52 {a catch-up}

Lovies, I have been a pretty absent blogger (instagram makes it so easy, no?). One thing I have been cringing at lately is not keeping up with the portrait a week project. Especially when I sent the photo on the right to my sister Madeline and she replied with this side by side of Felix at a few weeks old (on the left). 

I mean look at the changes! 

Please allow me to quickly catch up on the past weeks I've missed in one post? Weeks 20/52-23/52.

^Felix had a pretty bad case of diaper rash that made me feel like a horrible mother. I change her diapers all the time (love that blue line indicator on pampers!) so I didn't know why her little bum was suffering. Now I know it was because she was teething. Anyway, we spent many evenings soaking in a diaper rash treatment. I loved that time before bed with my little girl.

^and then this one just cracks me up. I was on the phone with my twinkie and it's like Felix was being nosy and understood our conversation. She is one of the girls! ;) 

Hopefully, I won't fall so far behind again. Fingers crossed!

Around this time a year ago, we found out my dreams were coming true. I was getting the little girl I always prayed for! One of the first things I bought for our baby girl was this outfit on etsy. At nearly 7 months, it fits like a crop top. I can't believe how fast time goes! Every parent tells you that. Warns you of it. Time slow down! this is such a fun age.

The other day I sent my family a video of Felix and I hanging out (i  can always make her laugh by kissing under her neck). My little sister's husband said it's like Felix and I are the best of friends and how he couldn't wait to experience that one day. She is my absolute best friend and I am blessed I get to hang out with her every day. 

Felix, 30 weeks.

Yes, I am posting a grainy front facing iPhone photo, but I just love this sweet moment I was able to capture. 

Felix had her six month wellness check-up where the doctor gave us the go on starting solids. My boobs and I were pretty excited about this! We've decided to do a week of rice cereal to get her used to eating from a spoon. Then for a month, we'll introduce her to a green vegetable each new week. 

Fe weighed 16 lbs 1 oz, 25 inches. My growing perfect little girl.

Felix, 28 weeks.

Her first food was green peas (understandably, she was more excited about the game).

How I still kissed that green smeared mouth of hers.

When Felix and I are out and about, perfect strangers stop to sweetly comment that she looks just like a doll. I can't get over it either.

Felix, 27 weeks.

My baby girl is six months today! To celebrate her half birthday, we had Dunkin' Donuts and had her photos taken.

I am still pinching myself that this perfect little tiny being is mine, all mine. How did I get so lucky?

Someone please figure out how to bottle up this sweet baby smell because I want to remember it always. And those big giggles! gosh those giggles.

This evening as we Maxham girls were cuddling before bedtime, I played our song and remembered that magical (and let's be honest, sweetly terrifying!) night we met. I had no idea what I was doing, holding this tiny beautiful baby to my heart. Felix, thank-you for trusting me because I think we're pretty amazing together, you and i.


Dear God, I am so thankful for her. For her laugh. That she is healthy and happy. Thank-you for choosing me as her Mama. I feel so blessed! I am sorry if I don't tell you that enough. Or that I love you.  Love, Micaela xo

My family and close friends call me Mickey. You can imagine how excited I was when I found these Mickey Mouse overalls on our last thrifting adventure.

As your Mama I may be biased, but gosh Felix Maxham you sure are pretty. I must have done something right in my life for you to be mine forever.

The other day my husband was watching our daughter while I showered. When I was getting ready to nurse her, I came into the room where he was holding her and her face just lit up. Best yet, she flapped her arms when I came near to pick her up (which I translated to the beginnings of her reaching up for me). You guys, it was such a joyful moment for me that I will never forget.

Felix, you are my biggest fan and it's the loveliest feeling in the world. Always reach for me sweet baby because I will always be there.

Lately Felix's smiles have been big open mouth ones. I'm going to miss her gummy smile when her teeth come in.

This isn't a baby fashion post by any means, I have to share a little about her outfit details:

As if Fe needed another headband (my Momma makes all of hers) but I couldn't resist buying this one from Little Blue Olive on Etsy. Mustard yellow, a vintage fawn, and glitter? Had my name--and therefore Felix's--all over it! she makes them in adult sizes too and new facebook fans get 15% off.

My blog header onesie is from the ever thoughtful Faiza, Felix bracelet made by my friend Miranda's 9-year-old daughter, and gold shoes from my girl Claire.

I always smile when we get an envelope addressed to Felix Maxham.

"She gets more letters than me," my husband joked as he handed me Saturday's mail.

It's true how lucky she is to be so loved and how I have the best friends.
