What you should watch + Why I love Twitter.

Last night (with a sleeping baby on my lap) I managed to watch a whole movie with limited interruptions. I just loved Hit & Run! It was hilarious, sweet, and had such a great cast.

I am such a fan of Dax Shepard. Not only is he my favorite Braverman, but I fell in love with him in this movie. And I love him and Kristen Bell together. side note: how cute will their baby be?

My favorite part in Hit & Run was right at the beginning when he tells her to take three deep breaths. I love how they shot that. The close-up of her eyes... swoon.

I enjoyed the movie so much, of course I had to tweet about it. Lovies, you know I adore a good celeb tweet. But this, this was crazy awesome! (even that is a weak description) A reply from DAX SHEPARD this morning:

I immediately called Marianne & Christina to scream about it and I was shaking ha I don't want to gloat (or sound crazy) but it's a pretty sweet tweet right? 

Seriously though, Hit & Run is a fun movie worth your watch.

Happy Birthday Robbie Williams!

If you know me, then you know I have loved British singer Robbie Williams since I was 10 and he was in a boyband called Take That. When Felix was born, my sweet friend Faiza sent me the sweetest onesies. She made them after things I loved so naturally there was one of Robbie Williams. I literally gasped when I saw this "itty bitty Robbie Williams fan" onesie. Seriously, I have the best friends!* 

I couldn't wait for this one in particular to fit Fe. What better day to wear it (with a pink tutu & gold shoes of course) than Robbie's birthday?

Felix usually smiles for me but naturally, when I want to be a teeny bopper and tweet a photo to RW, she's like this frog. 

You guys. Look at the image of the cake Robbie posted on his instagram feed. Out of the 1,000 of photos of him, this is the image. I know I sound pretty crazy, but I thought it was kinda neat ;)

This is how I spent my Friday night.

And I'm okay with it. As I've found out, when you're a Mama you definitely have less time to enjoy reading. This was a hard adjustment because when I love a book, I don't want to put it down. I may be exhausted tomorrow when Felix wakes up at 7 a.m. (or shudder, earlier) but it was worth it to get to read--and finish-- Mindy's book. It is no surprise I loved it.

Because thanks to her show (I know, I didn't watch The Office though I really wanted to), I love her. I want to be her best friend. Even more so now after reading the chapter Best Friend Rights and Responsibilities.

There's a part in her book about marriage that I dog eared. It's kind of sad to share it now because Mindy was talking about Amy Poehler and Will Arnett who have since divorced. Yet, the idea/message (hope) is still one that's powerful:

"I remember at the Parks and Recreation premiere four years ago, Amy was looking for her husband toward the end of the night. She stopped by me and a couple other Office writers who had scammed invites to the party.

Amy: Hey guys. Have you seen Arnett? I can't find him.

We didn't know where he was, and she shook her head good-naturedly, like "That guy," and went on looking for him. I had never heard a woman call her husband by his last name, like she was a player on the same sports team Will was on. You could tell from that small moment that Will and Amy are total pals." 


Made me smile and want to be a better pal to my husband because I love being on the same team. 

Mindy, I love you even more now. You were exactly my kind of Friday night. 

My adolescent self hasn't stopped screaming!

If you're like my twinkie and I, we've had fun crushing over our celebs since we were little. Two people we just loved and were going to marry one day was Zach Morris and AC Slater.

I've never even had a celeb tweet me before. CJ Wilson tweets Marianne all the time. Terrell Owens has even tweeted her back. After this, Marianne gave me her Twitter Tiara. 

Sigh. It's my teenybopper dream come true!

If you follow me on Twitter, you might have noticed I'm a smitten kitten over Jason Ritter. He's my celeb crush and I'm crushin pretty hard. I fell in love with him all over again when I started Parenthood but the truth is, he had me at Peter and Vandy.

I don't believe in spoilers so I won't say anything about the season finale other than my subject line, that I was completely Team Mark. How incredible was his acting tonight?!

♥ ROBBIE WILLIAMS (mr. sexy pink suit) was Ezgi's view outside of work today & graciously snapped this pic for me. My view? desert. SO UNFAIR. oh to be in London... thank-you Ezgi! LOVE.

♥ i've been experiencing some restless leg syndrome lately and my poor calves have been aching. When propping them up doesn't work, husband has been sweet to massage them (spy my bare bump? hard to miss!) ...

... and when that doesn't work, there's nothing like a blissful pedi! i've been sticking to hues of pink ever since i found out we were having a girl. 

♥ Felix nearly has a wardrobe the size of her Mama, thanks to my incredible friends and their sweet presents. This one is from Auntie Erin in Canada. I will def. be keeping this for Felix to have when she's older - so she can see how teeny tiny she once was and her birth place {i also love that it's hot pink!} from Erin's card: I know your love for her will be bigger than Texas (and that she'll be the most beautiful baby in your fair state!) 

Made me tear up! the onsie is custom made by Gentry's Closet- tons of other adorable thins for baby including these football legwarmers Erin pointed out to me. They would go great with Felix's cowboys gear, no?

Yes, as in 50 Shades of Grey. I just finished book one and can't wait to get started on the next one. I know, it's poorly written and unrealistic in many ways... but man oh man, there's just something about it that makes you want more.

on pinterest, i have a folder called "inspired to sweat" (photos to get me to the gym).

these photos of Michelle Williams went into said folder.

i treated myself to a coffee at barnes and noble before work and saw this GQ cover. i instantly texted M and asked her if she had seen her girl crush. wowza, i wanna look like her after a baby. hell, i wanna look like her before a baby!

i love a good celebrity crush. there's the obvious ones that we can all agree to {johnny depp, ryan gosling, forever brad pitt, maybe even zac effron these days... i mean have you seen this trailer? thx twinkie!}.

But today i wanted to talk about the not so obvious celebs on anyone's crush radar except perhaps yours. Wanna know who i have big crushes on? 

Steve Carrell. He touched my heart in Little Miss Sunshine, stole it in Dan in Real Life, but cinched it in Crazy Stupid Love.

Tom Hanks. Can you think of one movie of his that you didn't like? he's amazing. He seems that way off-screen too. One of the reasons i find him attractive is he seems like such a good husband.

these guys make me swoon. i find them incredibly sexy even if they don't look like your "obvious" idea of sexy.

i have celeb crushes. There's the forever crush (as in i still would marry him variety) in Robbie Williams and Penelope Cruz, who i call my girlfriend. 

it's fun to get slightly obsessed. My twin sister Marianne is more than slightly obsessed with last season's Texas Rangers Ace Pitcher C.J. Wilson (fingers crossed he stays in Texas!). So much so, she joined twitter just to read his tweets.  

the other day i get this phone call from a very excited twinkie saying that they had tweeted each other!!! as in THE Cj Wilson, her celeb crush, had replied to one of her tweets about working out after turkey day. Proof: 

A hot guy she loves talking about working out? a big deal. {I love seeing his twitter name and her name}

i think i would melt if Robbie Williams ever replied to one of my tweets.

my go-to actress.

when i'm in need of a movie date with myself, i watch one of charlotte gainsbourg's.

the last one i saw was The Science of Sleep, suggested ages ago by a darling blog reader. i was excited the director was also behind Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, one of my absolute faves.

i love her effortless (almost plain?) style. how she hardly wears make-up in any of her movies.

one of my favorite foreign films of hers is this one for the mentioned scene alone.

but i'm pretty curious/excited to see her make another jump to the american screen in the upcoming melancholia {thanks for posting about it kary!}
