thrifted for baby.

A little girl can never have too many sailor dresses (and I couldn't resist those wooden hangers)

Sheets for picnics and fort making.

I'm always on the lookout for vintage toys. The squeaky bear was actually a thrifted gift from Auntie Marianne

Floral jacket for when she's a toddler.

Books, always books. The Very Lonely Firefly is one of my favorites.

I wanted a girl so bad, I couldn't resist the bottle candle who sits perfectly next to the fawn candle Erin sent me and vintage blocks from Phoenix.

finally, finally!

Once upon a time I wrote about a blog crush of mine named April. When I talk to blog friends, we usually talk about who we would love to meet. April has always been one of my answers.

You guys, i finally got to hug her this past Saturday. Lovies, she does not disappoint. We had SO much fun!

You wouldn't believe Felix was the first baby April had ever held. She was a natural with my little who loved her too. April came with fabulous gifts for Mama and baby--you know how I feel about Love Story and records + i can't wait until Felix can wear her zebras!

Since she got here around lunch time, Marianne and I took to her to one of my favorite local eateries, a family owned greek place called Hibiscus Cafe.

(Please ignore the hot mess that was my hair) Yummy hummus and gyros and the best greek coffee.
The little babe was worn out from all the attention at lunch that we dropped her off with her grandparents so we could enjoy some thrifting!

Twinkie and I are going to pretend these are from Felix.

We also went out for some drinks while watching some football and then stayed up late watching Parenthood (which Marianne and April just started so no spoilers!).

Of course, there were a lot of Felix cuddles

and of course, I fell in love with April even more after meeting her.

I mean seriously, look at her tweet. Hilarious!

Christmas Thrifts.

I love thrifting with my little babe. Felix loves to be strolled and I love taking my time browsing the rows of shelves at our local Savers. When nothing else works, it's usually my solution for a fussy afternoon.

While on a continuous hunt for vintage glass ornaments and Christmas kitsch, we have scored some pretty holiday thrifts.

A festive pillow for our couch. The intricate candle holder will be our table's centerpiece.

Candle clip-on ornaments I could not pass up for 99 cents.

The wooden carousal ornament and the pocket sized 'Twas the night before Christmas will go in Fe's stocking.

I fell in love with that velvet forest green dress, handmade baby blanket, and children's Christmas record. Thrifting for Felix is my absolute favorite.

Have you thrifted any holiday goodies lately?

thrifted for baby.

lately i've been finding really good handmade blankets (read, i want to buy them all).

i can't get over the stool, especially since husband had one like it when he was little.

i loved finding a mini version pyrex beaker (i use mine to hold make-up brushes).

the white lace crochet pillow is thrifted / the deer one is from vintage jane, a gift from auntie marianne.

the milk glass lamp? only $2.

the trash can is nothing special but it fits with felix's nursery :)

oh how i love a good thrifting "me date."

thrifted for baby.

My father-in-law writes me and husband a daily email. He always ends it by reminding us to take care of each other and hug often (best advice ever). Max told his Papa we were nesting and my father-in-law's reply was, "Hope nesting is going well. No sticks, just soft stuff."

It made me giggle.

The story of our baby book and doll i actually purchased long before we were pregnant (when we were trying) -- and way before we even knew we would be having a girli like to believe Felix truly is an answer to a prayer.

three things thrifted.

i took myself out on a date to our local Savers, and i'm so glad i did! i hit the thrifting jackpot today, lovies. i may have spent more than i normally would buy second hand items, but when you see the last item that went into my arms today, you'll understand why.

below the knee length t-shirt dress in my favorite color (also loved the 80s feel) / i scored a set of pyrex glass beakers : one is holding my pens on my desk and the other holds my make-up brushes as you can see from the photo above.

now these babies are the reason why i spent a little more than usual! the photo doesn't do them justice. i knew immediately when i saw them, i had to have them no matter the price, especially since they were in my size. They're in perfect condition Giani Bini boots and they were $24.99. This may not seem a lot if you live in a big city, but it's the most I've spent while thrifting. I'm in love with them!

Since i didn't get a chance to ask a question yesterday for Wanting to Know You Wenesday, i'll ask it here : what's the most you have ever spent thrifting and what was it?

happy things to end the week with.

♥ my brother marco and his beautiful girlfriend Christina found out their baby is a girl! we got the exciting news Monday and i sent the above Tuesday. :) i am beyond thrilled for them!!! her name is Marisol Luz (which means "light" in spanish) Lechuga and i'm in love with her already.
i had to show you two gifts that made its way to Arizona. Christina is a huge Gwen Stefani fan so of course i had to get her baby something from target's Harajuku Mini line. How adorable is this sailor romper? & already proud aunties, me and marianne couldn't resist getting Marisol the bff onsie. We can't wait to meet her in June!

♥ scored thrifting find (currently listening to Sounds of Silence on my record player)

♥ there's no place like home... and thanks to my sweet brother-in-law, twinkie's husband Philip surprised us with the best birthday gift! he bought me a plane ticket to come home so we can spend our 28th birthday together!!! it was all his planning and yesterday i got my flight confirmation for feb. 29th - march 10th. I can't wait!!! isn't her husband the greatest?!

♥ Grey's Anatomy is back on (it's the little things in life)

happy things to end the week with.

thrifted score (one of my absolute favorite love stories)
♥ because i lurved these over the knee boots in black, i had to get the grey pair. Since it's still BOGO (+ my 15% off coupon) i scored these faux vintage oxfords for $6.50. I'll be pairing them with stockings to wear with my dresses.

love this ornament from 12 legs curiosities
♥ today was the last day to sign up for my ornament exchange and i am thrilled by the response! it seems each year just gets bigger and better (what a mundane description on my part ha but you know what i mean). i'm going to tackle getting everyone paired this weekend... wish me luck!

♥ and lastly but most importantly, we end this week remembering our Veterans. Here's my favorite one, my pappa. There's not enough thanksgiving in my heart for all our troops currently serving.
