i needed a day off of life. So i called in around 5 in the morning (and if you know me, you know i'm by no means a morning person but i hadn't really slept that good last night).
instead of working, i got a pedicure (metallic silver) & went to my favorite book shop.
that's where i found this gem.
there are so many coincidences about this sweet love letter from Henry to his "wifie."
i love finding old notes in books wondering who they were intended for and why. Could i have found a more perfect treasure?
Henry... this is exactly what I want.
what a perfect little gift of love.
(thank you for all your heart-felt and genuine emails/comments. i can't tell you how much they mean to me-- more than you'll ever know. For now, i have no energy to talk about "it"-- so please forgive my silence and know how much you are so greatly appreciated! x)

Omg, I love that find. So so sweet. I've been reading your posts from the last couple days, and I'm not positive what's going on, but for what it's worth I'm thinking happy thoughts for you :)
Hope all is well <3
Wow, not only would finding this old copy of Pride and Prejudice have been great enough but the sweet note inside just makes it perfect! I love things like this and imagining the lives of the people it used to belong to!

Darling girl... this made me smile. How adorable sweet is that little note?? I just love these things....
I'm glad you found something that made you smile.... Days off from life are sometimes exactly what we need, aren't they?
i love finding books with beautiful dedications in them too....it make me write them a well knowing that one day someone might read it and wonder what my story was.
hope that you are okay.....
Micaela, I love you. So very much. And that is such a wonderful copy of pride and prejudice to have. You are the most beautiful girl in the whole world. Please keep smiling, and know when you are ready, Im here. xo
I love you, dear. Very, very much...
XOXO
i would have DIED if i had found this! my love's name is Henry and July 2nd is my mother's birthday..
and guess what my favorite book is?
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. would have died i tell you! i'm happy you took a day off :) sometimes we all need those.
that is a treasure, what a find.
take all the time you need lovely x
i think the best thing about old books isn't the smell or the illustrations, but the notes inside! and i've always liked the name henry, so i'd say you hit the jackpot with that book!
oh my .... how absolutely PERFECT... henry? yes
I love you Micaela!! You certainly found a treasure! I love it! Matt and I went to Georgia a couple years ago, and at the top of a mountain was a beautiful old house and garden, all alone. In the library I found love notes in a few of the books. It was a tradition - gave me butterflies. I hope you're doing well - you're in my thoughts!! : ) CHIN UP BUTTERCUP!!!
YOU were supposed to find that book...today. i believe it! i also love finding bus tickets, boarding passes in books. ahh to picture adventure in travel and books all in one!
holy moly. I am so incredibly jealous. so much. P&P is my favorite book. I read it all the time (or at least the letter of re-purposal) and especially on down days. I've recently decided I want to start collecting old copies of it. And I'm glad this found its way to you, particularly right now, but I'm having a really hard time not being full of envy instead!
What a gem you have found. A great book in itself and the sweet note inside. Wow! I'm sure you will treasure it.
I really do hope all is well! xx
a gem indeed! take care of yourself hun we'll be here when you come back :)
Awwwweeee. That is such a great find!
ugh i'm so there with you. sometimes you just need a day completely for yourself. i hope your day off made you feel rejuvenated. i hope everything is ok!
How romantic and lovely! What a treasure to find!
I'm so sad you're sad. But I'm glad you know what a girl needs when she's sad. <3
What an amazing find! Pride and Prejudice is my favorite book, and to find a love note...sigh. I'm glad you took a day just for you; we all need that from time to time.
i hate when the sadness bug bites the people i care about. i think we need to invent a spray that keeps that sadness bug away!
ps - you find the most amazing treasures.
woow! eek! you are always so lucky
How lovely is that 'wifie' ..and how lovely you found it too ..
and sometimes time off is what you need exactly to sort out issues ..hope it did you good and ur feeling much better :) Love and hugs ...P
It always makes me a bit sad to find old notes written in books, I guess because the note reflects something that happened a long time ago to people who may have passed on already, and it reminds me of my own mortality. It's just so sweet and sad! :)
micaela, i just read your last post and i sincerely hope things are working out for you! i'm glad you had a good relaxing day with pedis and old books! sending positive thoughts your way! xox
This is why I don't think I'll ever jump on the e-reader bandwagon. Books -- especially old ones -- just have character. They sometimes tell stories beyond what's on their pages.
Hope you enjoyed your day off, girlie. We all need "mental health days" every now and then! :)
that book is certainly a gem. i love old books, especially with notes. it transports me to the past and i feel so sneaky to get a peak into their world! and what a precious husband :)
so sweet...I know that this is very late but I hope that whatever was caused you sadness has left and there is nothing but sunshine and smiles :D
