happy things to end the week with.

a photo of me kissing my Dirk bobble head for luck a few seasons ago, that sat on my work desk
one thing you probably already know about me is what a big fan of the Dallas Mavericks i am. i even named my girl bichon frise pup Maverick. i love them.  Even when my darling husband told me they probably couldn't win against the LA Lakers, i held my faith. First on the list of happy things is their THIRD win against the defending champs last night at home!!! {sorry, Jo! i'm glad we're still each other's blog crushes even so} it was an intense and very close game and at the end of it, i was standing up on my coffee table jumping! (ask my husband) and my man Dirk? 32 points last night.

my favorite kind of art is mixed media. i'm inspired by this piece of Nadiine's over at freeze frame. i love every bit of it.

remember those souvenir mittens i wanted? well my older sister picked these up for me during a layover in Heathrow (i love the design on the tea canister).  oh to have worn a tiara in the middle of the night watching at the party erin was at!

while i was away having an adventure in NYC, i left a love letter for every day i was gone for my husband to find throughout the house with a little treat (bag of m&m's, hot funyons-- cos that's what he gets me instead of flowers-- etc). i loved his responses and looked forward to them every morning.

and i know i've gone on and on about NYC here and here, but some last images of the Big Apple to share:

do i look like a New Yorker?

i took advantage of a starbucks at every corner (to which Kary said, "you really do drink coffee like you say you do on your blog and eat as much as you say you do!" ha) the booties i found at a thrift shop, thanks to Miguelito telling me to try them on. Good thing he did cos i love them!

and because i can't help but smile that i met the wily brunette bombshell... another one with the gorgeous meg fee.

i know i'm a day late playing along with Summer B. (who i was SO happy to meet in person also in NY!) but i still wanted to play.

also... Happy National Pilates Day!

I love the mixed media too. I didn't think of buying anything royal weddingy... I'm feeling more and more like a bad Brit with every blog post I read lol.

I loooooove mixed media or any art that incorporates text. You definitely look like a New Yorker in that pic! Coffee, newspaper, hailing a cab! :) It's so cute that Miguelito encouraged you to try on those shoes. :)

We'll see if you can look like a San Franciscan next month! :)

I got a few commemorative Royal Wedding things... watch the mail for a fancy stamp very soon... Also got the Macleans Magazine special edition with some wonderful photos of the big day. Love it!

You must be so excited for your next big trip, too. When do you fly to sunny California?

there's nothing better than living in LA right now and being able to cheer (loudly and obnoxiously) as the mavs beat the lakers. it's been oh so fun.
