written on a postcard.

as you know i love a good swap. Gracie's postcard swap was two of my ideals: send a postcard to a beautiful stranger sharing a quote you love.

i got paired up with jen and here's the postcard she sent me:

i love that she made me one that went with her quote. She said it seemed fitting since she sent it out on "Earth Day." Creative, no?

(thanks to shell for reminding me how much i love that quote)

such a fun swap! thanks Gracie for hosting.

did you participate? even if you didn't... what quote would you share?

+also, thank-you for your kindest compliments on my last post, my little video hello. i loved every one of your comments, especially when i was so unsure to post it. Thank-you!!! xo

The postcard swap was fun, wasn't it? I got some lovely cards from Poland and Australia... with quotes by Audrey Hepburn (gorgeous woman, and very wise!) and Albert Einstein. My favourite quote right now is by Anne Frank. "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world."

Thanks again, it was great getting your postcard in the mail! I have it sitting on my desk for inspiration right now.

Let's just say I can't pick only one. Which is not a big surprise, but I'll share this one:

"We are not the same persons this year as last; nor are those we love. It is a happy chance if we, changing, continue to love a changed person."
— William Somerset Maugham

I would use my favorite quote from a movie as well. From Amelie "At least you'll never be a vegetable because even artichokes have hearts"

wow, what a great idea. i should take to sending such quotes to those in my life.

i'd send:

"i beg you...to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. don't search for the answers, which could not be given you now, because you would not be able to live them. and the point is, to live everything. live the questions now. perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer."-rainer maria rilke

Yikes, I sent a postcard to my partner SO LATE! I got hers a couple weeks ago . . . I should post about it but unfortunately forgot to take a pic of the one I sent out! Damn! I made it and it was pretty. :) I used an Anais quote. That Neruda poem is SO BEAUTIFUL (have you read the whole poem?). I shared it in class at San Quentin a couple weeks ago and the guys liked it a lot.

That's such a great idea, I definitely want to do a postcard swap now that I've seen this. I had no idea people did this, what a lovely way to brighten someone's day and in return have someone brighten your's. The quote I'd use is this "If you can walk, you can dance."

Ohh I love this Micaela. I like that she sent you a handmade post card too :)

Eee! All this postcard love is making me want to do another one! Maybe this Quote Post card should become a regular thing (for the group). x
