♥ i fell in love with Emi-Jay hair ties while using claire's in SF. She blogged about how amazing they were before and i should have listened. Cute, sturdy, and won't dent your hair if you decide to take your pony tail down. i instantly ordered Emi-Jay's pearl collection.
♥ i've been swooning over NBA Finals MVP (and my man who led his team to the Championship!) Dirk Nowitzki in glasses
♥ i made israeli couscous salad for lunch yesterday and just about ate the whole bowl! delicious and healthy and so easy to make! (i also used yellow tomatoes like the recipe suggested)
♥ will you look at that face? i'm clearly an auntie who's smitten. my adorable niece sophia who recently turned 4 and already knows how to work the camera. this was at her dance recital.
Happy Friday Lovies!!! what happy things are you ending the week with?
+please leave a link below if you do a post-- i'd love to share in your happiness xo
and what mid-week date isn't complete without a LBD? i mentioned i believed in treating yourself... i forgot to mention this dress i purchased from olivia of the gorgeous blog everyday musings who did some spring cleaning of her closet.
so i wore my new to me little black dress, along with these booties purchased in NYC.
and we went and saw the hilarious and fun "bridesmaids" and went to a late dinner where we had breakfast (me : french toast, cheese omelet, hashbrowns, and a bowl of fruit to keep it somewhat healthy since i ate all the tortillas on my husband's plate)
husband: do you love me?
me: with all my heart. more than you know. do you love me?
husband: with all my heart. more than you know.
me: you can't copy me! you could have said, i love you as much as animal hoarders are mental *he was watching that in the other room
husband: ha, you said it so well though! ok, i love you as much as bubbles loves running and beneful. *bubbles is one of our pups
me: haha see that made me laugh :)
i believe in mid-week dates in little black dresses, even when you're married. especially when you're married. oh and texting silly love things.
my recent treat for myself was this 1950's crossbody purse from bows and sparrows. i've put myself on a budget but decided for $11 for a purse made in Italy (my heaven on earth), i had to have it.
what about you? if you have a link, do include it! i believe in little treats for oneself, especially if it's a steal!
also... do pop over to my beautiful birthday girl friend's blog with well wishes. she deserves to have a most fabulous day! xo
yes, my forever celebrity crush-- the one i've wanted to marry since i was 10.
alas, we -- Robbie & i -- both got married to other people this year! ha
i wrote it was his birthday as my status on facebook (yup, i'm that obsessed) and it's so funny because a girl i knew in middle school commented that she can't think of Take That without thinking of me and Marianne (you had New Kids on the Block... me & twinkie had the British version Take That, the boyband robbie williams started in. He was their Donnie Whalberg). Then a guy that was in my high school art class remembers me gushing about the concert where my dream came true and i saw Robbie Williams live!
you see, this love of ours has history. So much so that my husband just rolls his eyes and forgives my teeny boppness.
at any rate, marianne texted me about flats from target i would love and told me i should treat myself on Rob's birthday. i have no flats other than my moccasins and was on the search for some.
found : mustard yellow, last pair in my size!
any excuse to shop for me... Happy Birthday Robbie! and here's a song for those of you who have never heard of my :cough: would-have-been-husband. It's one of my favorites...
if you got through this crazy post, thank-you! i did warn you at the title *wink
Carrie Marie had asked where i got my deco tape from. lovies, i'm pretty sure you know the answer to that one right? where else do i go for anything anymore but etsy.com? two things i've purchased for love letters:
airmail/scissors/postage stamps tape from PrettyTape.
i needed new address labels & picked Little Miss Flapper up from Kumquat Designs.
speaking of etsy, this original artwork came in this week - more beautiful in person! i love the collaged card she included and her business cards + sticker.
^pretty Faiza is always so thoughtful! I loved the quote on this card: "It's the good girls who keep the diaries; the bad girls never have the time." She got me these gorgeous earrings from an antique market on her street. Faiza said she's lived there for 7 years and had never gone until she ducked in and found these beauties that reminded her of me. They're from the 1950's and the woman who owned them was a passionate lover with a real love of fashion. love love love! thank-you so much Faiza!!! xo
^postcard from Phoenix while on her visit to Buffalo Bill's grave. This is Annie "Little Miss Sure Shot" who traveled many years with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show.
^a thank-you for a thank-you from April {i adore this girl!} see what i sent that is PERFECTLY her in my outbound.
^i really love my postcards from Zackary, Steph's little boy. i mean how cute is his handwriting!?
my thank-you to april : she loves polar bears & i love art on etsy. I found this one titled 70s pornstar girl from Burnt Feather.
she emailed me this photograph below that she has, saying it would go perfectly with it. I'm so glad! there's only so many friends you're comfortable with sending illustrated nudity to... april is one of them. ha
^i also made her a mixed tape to thank her for the two she made me.
^postcard for my friend Janette in Germany
^Bianca got my post-bruised parcel but luckily everything was in tact.
^things that will always remind me of Bianca : red anything, collages, and spoons a la her blog title goodnight little spoon.
I was so excited to find this gem at a book shop in Baltimore as i was exploring the city.
"Just like the endless box of 'stuff' Warhol himself collected, there's a little bit of everything in here: more than twenty exact reproductions of invitations, letters from celebrities, photos, astrological charts, and various artifacts of his unconventional creative processes...
In true Warhol form, you'll also find some surprises--including a ring-shaped Factory stamp, a Campbell's Soup button, and your own complimentary pass to The Andy Warhol Museum."
goes well with Andy Warhol Nudes i purchased in a row of book shops in a small texas town.
