me, twinkie, and our gf stephanie are braving the tweens to see the midnight showing. i can not wait to see BEAUTIFUL Rob Patz. We maybe even bought our Edward shirts last night.

sometimes i pretend i'm Micaela Stewart... as in Tony Stewart. As in NASCAR driver of #14.

on our road trips, darling friend (who doesn't understand why i'm a NASCAR fan) would put the race on the radio for me, and sometimes on Sirius they would have the Tony Stewart channel. This is love, my friends.

i would pretend i was racing, sound effects and all.

he even took me to a NASCAR outlet store we happen to pass on our way to Virginia. this is where i got my tony stewart mousepad.

AND... when he went for his job interview in August, he brought home a Tony Stewart bandanna for our little Maverick.

this is love.

oh Johnny...

I'm a huge fan of People Magazine. To write for them would be a dream come true. Always a favorite feature of mine is their "Sexiest Man Alive" issue.

Johnny Depp is again crowned this year's sexiest man alive.


i get his sexiness... but i think a lot of his charm and what makes him so sexy... is how cool he just seems. so very cool.


and though they are long ago history... i have always loved this picture of him & kate moss.

& i bought us tickets!!!

Darling Friend got to see B.B. when he worked at his first tv station in Mississippi. Every year B.B. King comes home to Indianola for his birthday to perform. His station at the time sponsored B.B. Homecoming and Max was a VIP. I have always loved this picture he got from the summer of 2006.

Max says it was INCREDIBLE. i can't wait! i wish he could go but he'll get here a few days after the concert to pick me up and move me.

i'm really excited that me and Pappa get to share this.

unexpected thank-you cards are the sweetest.

Melita was my autumn comfort swap partner. (you can see what i sent her on her blog here)

I got the sweetest thank-you card from her today, that included a packet of sweet & spicy herbal tea. She's a huge fan of tea {in fact it's a shame i met her after her tea trade}. i can't wait to try this one out.

a little bit of her note that touched my heart: "Every single item was perfect. It's as if we've been friends for years. Actually, even some friends I've had for years still don't quite get my style :) -- you nailed it!"

oh blogging world, you are the best decision i've ever made... well, aside from this one. *wink

Ten Rules.

When i anchored my morning weekend at the news station, my camera operator was a guy named Giovanni. Working behind the scenes... maybe he was more in tune with seeing things beyond the surface. He had that kind of personality... he was Austin-weird (and this is a compliment).

He once recommend a movie, saying that the main character reminded him of me. He said she even had the "nice guy" who loved her. (this is my darling friend)

i watched the movie "My Sassy Girl" and cried. i cried because there were parts that did truly remind me of us, before we were even an "us."

in fact, i watched it during a time me and darling friend weren't exactly on speaking terms because i had been (for the longest time) a coward to not make the jump and be with him.

If you've seen the movie... there's this part where she breaks his heart. And she has this moment where she realizes she's doing it, and excuses herself to go to the restroom because she feels sick. When she comes back, he's gone... but he's left "ten rules" for the next guy. Ten Sweet Rules for dating her.

i immediately stopped the movie and wrote down my ten rules for dating Max.

here was my list:

1. listen to his jokes. they will make you laugh. more than that-

listen to his laugh.

2. sing him Abba when he's having a bad day. [not that he's a huge fan of abba, but i am. and not that i can sing, but i would sing abba for him & it would make him smile]

3. love Bubbles [his dog]. take her for walks and talk to her about her day & how happy her owner makes you.

4. enjoy crime shows/trivia with him

5. don't expect to cuddle during sleepovers- he can't sleep but he'll hold you until he thinks you're asleep and he'll give you the "good pillow."

6. don't change his radio- he loves his 80's

7. encourage his talent. let him know how good he is at weather.

8. ask him about his family; his nephew.

9. expect little gifts just because, like a bag of your favorite chips.

10. love him. because he will love you with all his heart.

my idea was to send him the movie and include the list. no instructions.

luckily, i got to tell him all this in person.

and even better, i never had to give this list to anyone else.

i get to do every one of them... for him.
