oh weekend, i'm so glad to see you!

HAPPY FRIDAY LOVIES!!! man oh man, i may have been counting down before i even got to work this morning. What a loooong week it has been. I even started crying on my way home one day this week on the phone with my twinkie. I was pretty homesick.

So i am especially thrilled it's friday!!! AND... we had a special associates sale today.... ! love love love. I am in no shape to be spending any kind of money but it's ridiculous how low it cost me for these goodies that i thought after a really long week of training and 3 more weeks of it, why not?

i mean literally one day this week as soon as i pulled out of the parking lot at work, i started crying it's been so overwhelming. So, i deserved this. {smiles}

they lace up in the back

i'm a girl who is never in jeans. Their brand may have changed my mind completely! They are so comfortable and soft + the bonus is they're trendy. (so i can still wear my heels) I'm also hardly in just a t-shirt, but their embellished soft t's are like you're already wearing jewelry. (the front two are tanks with ruffled fronts that will dress up my plain blazers)

BUT MY LACE UP MOCCASINS! i am in loooove! They are even better than these ones here on my wens wish list for a cost that was truly a steal.

off on a date with my husband-to-be, but before i go how about another round of
1. One song that always takes me back to my youth is "Piano Man" by Billy Joel. Such a great song and always makes me smile because it reminds me of road trips with my parents when we were little .

2. My first concert ever was ROBBIE WILLIAMS!!! at a little bar in Deep Ellum in downtown Dallas. If you know me, you KNOW i love this man and have since i was 10. I saw him when I was 16 and it's still one of the best nights of my life ;) shamelessly so! To see Robbie front stage at the time was crazy cos he was MASSIVE everywhere else in the world. During his last number, he took the bra i was wearing from my hands and swung it up stage. yup, amazing. What i wouldn't have given to have been older! ha .

3. If I could create my dream music festival I'd want these bands to be there: COLDPLAY, Robbie Willams, U2, ELVIS, and Michael Jackson. ooh and David Bowie. (I've seen 3 out of the lot and they were AMAZING!) .

4. The best make-out/"boot knocking" song ever is "wicked game" - it worked for Ross & Rachel on "Friends." Ha. Actually, I'm the same on this one... i don't really listen to music when you know .

5. The best concert I've ever been to was besides Robbie, COLDPLAY is my favorite to see live. They are AMAZING!!! i've seen them 3x and each one was just as good as the others .

6. A memorable musical moment for me was refer back to #2 lol seriously though, it was seeing U2 live (it was def. a life list checked off) and Sir Paul McCartney with Max at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium. We had the best time and how many people can say they've seen Sir Paul? We both said that we'd tell our babies about it some day .

7. The song on my iPod that's getting the most play these days is "Politik" by Coldplay on my way to work each morning .

I can't wait to read your answers and i'm excited i can cos I'M OFF FOR THE WEEKEND! oh it's truly the little things... like my moccasins i can't wait to put on!

I'm pretty proud that I knew who "they" are simply by the pictures you posted. (Of course I also double checked online.) Are you keeping it a secret for your safety? Or did they tell you not to tell? That would be fascinating! Happy weekend!

I know exactly how you are feeling about being homesick. I love it here, and I am happy. But I feel like a total outsider/stranger. Sometimes I cry, too. Hang in there, sister! :)

xxoo,
Emilie

The first album he bought? That is amazing. He is a keeper for sure.

As for Vampire Weekend.. I really like the song "Walcott" from their first album (self-titled), "Bryn" and "One" are also reeeeally good. Very upbeat and unique. I love 'em.

YOU TOOK YOUR BRA OFF AND GAVE IT TO ROBBIE WILLIAMS?

Or did you bring another bra along specifically to give to him? (I might start doing that, actually. Carrying an extra bra in my purse in case I see any sexy famous men around. Tom would love that, I'm sure.)

Either way, you are like...my god right now.

It'll get better, Micaela... Soon you'll be an expert at the new job and it won't be so new anymore.

Enjoy every minute of your weekend off, esp in those fab new clothes!

Ohhhh I LOVE the tops you bought, especially the ruffles! I've been looking all over the place for one that just suits me, but so far no luck. Ah well, maybe it's not meant to be :) Have a fab weekend!

SOOOO lucky! I'm also really happy for you and your new job. I'm seriously dying for this Barnes and Noble job! I'm waiting for Monday morning to do a follow-up on my app. I really really really want to leave Starbucks!

That necklace you bought is SOOOO pretty. I need better outfits to match all my necklaces and jewelry. Sigh, I can't wait for my summer shopping. :)

They are truly lovely moccasins! And you got some really great buys. The look of those soft t's. Eee! I'm probably opposite to you and wear a lot of jeans and tee's.

And it seems like you have been to a lot of fantastic concerts. I don't really go to many but maybe I should.

No better way to end a tough week than to treat yourself Micaela, and it sounds like you needed a treat too!

Love that shirt you have on in the first picture - where is it from?

xx

I am in love with "their" tees too! :) I'm already jealous of your job! Sorry to hear it has been tough on you so far. I miss working SO SO much. I couldn't work in retail anymore it was killing me so I went back to college but I really want a part time job that is not in service. Very hard to find that's for sure. I'm applying for a job at a library doing clerical and helping visually impaired check out books, etc. Wish me luck. :)

enjoy the much deserved weekend.

Faiza, it was AMAZING!!! and yes Kellie, the bra i was wearing! haha. I took it off to give to him! LOL my twinkie was with me and she told me to just throw it up on stage and i said, "nooo i want him to know it's mine and not just someone else in the crowd" and as we're debating, he comes over to me and takes it from my hand. YES, MY HANDS!!! ahhhhh he swung it around and when they bowed at the end of the show, his guitarist (cute too) put it around his neck lol as they were going backstage at the end of the concert, ROBBIE WILLIAMS was swatting the band members with MY little black bra. It was AMAZING!!!! ya, Max is less impressed with that story too ;) so i imagine Tom might not like it if you kept a pretty bra just incase. Oh man, what i wouldn't have given to have been older than 16 LOL

Belen, all my luck to you for B&N! i would love to work there too. Fingers crossed!!!

Danielle, i love we have the same style! I was SUPER glad they had your little size in them :) you are going to loooove them! they are SO comfy and go with everything. Your comment made me want to cry because it was so genuine. I'm so glad to know you! xoxoxo

Cassie, the shirt on the top is from New York & Company. I looove their stuff! you can shop online too, fyi ;)

sushipie, i've worked in retail through school and it's def. tough at times (the holidays = hell!) but i always loved the discounts ;) luckily with this job i'm not in the retail store (amen! i can't imagine working on commission). GOOD LUCK on your library job! you'll get it :) and what a fun job that would be!!! i have ALWAYS wanted to work in a library. Let me know how it goes?

I love those moccasins almost as much as the gorgeous necklace you're wearing in the first picture!

Lauren Nicole said...

three more weeks of training, say whaaat? insane. but i know you can power through it! :]

you never wear jeans..? hmm, i never would have thunk it. but i love all your finds at THAT place, so lovely. the little moccasins are so freaking adorable, i'm going to have to look online and see if there's any in my size. :]

'i don't really listen to music when, you know...' hahahahahaha <3 <3

oh. my. you've seen paul mccartney live??!!?!?!?!! seriously, what HAVE you not done? THAT is on my life list; to see paul mccartney, one of the beatles, greatest songwriter of all time, sexiest rock legend, LIVE? would be the greatest night ever. you'll have to tell me about seeing him perform in our journal; the whole story, don't hold ANYTHING back, haha. ;] <3

even though it's not friday, i'll still probably fill it out for my post later; really cool this one's all about music. :] to create your own music festival? heck yess!
