Sharing Sundays... Vintage Refasioned.

this week I decided to showcase an Etsy shop i think is awesome.

I'd like to introduce you to JoAnn of

beautiful new objects from salvaged material

JoAnn has stockpiles of vintage & modern maps that she can happily customize for you. For instance, if you're like my twinkie and love London, this would be perfect for you!

when i read this from her shop announcement: "Perhaps you have taken a special trip and you'd like me to retrace your path with thread," i knew what i had to order.

A heart from my beloved Texas to where our story begins.

When I asked about this custom order, JoAnn sent me different maps to choose from, and even asked if there was a certain route i wanted her to sew. She's attentive and thorough like that and I had fun exchanging messages back and forth.

My beautiful new piece of art came in this week, along with a friendly note and a little collage she made. She will be selling them in her shop soon but i was getting one of the first as a way of saying thank-you. JoAnn, you're too sweet!

(btw, i love how she wrote her note on the back of an index card with ^this on the back)

JoAnn is a delight and if you are looking for that perfect gift, i suggest her shop. I mean it's unique and the possibilities are endless- for your sister who loves London, for your girlfriend who had a destination wedding... for your husband's hometown. Or, if you're like me, to show where you followed your heart.

other things you'll find at Refashioned are these pretty flower pins made from repurposed fabric.

i can't get enough of etsy and all the talent there. Moreso, i can't get enough of the new friends i've made, like Christin from CMEdesign, or Steph of forget-me-not eco gifts (who finally gave in to my pleas to start a blog! yay!!!), and now JoAnn of Refashioned.

Micaela, I can't tell you what a wonderful surprise this blog post was. Thank a thousand times! And thank you to everyone who has such kind words about my little maps! I am truly flattered. I am a little embarrassed that my shop is looking so empty right now. I hope to get more in there this week!
