when i start a book, i always read the last line of the book first.

“i usually pick the last sentence on the page and see how it stands on its own,” says artist aprile elcich, “then i choose images which help develop the phrase into something more.”

brilliant. these i love.

(as first seen on the fabric of my life)

i remember someone telling me a while back that they always read the last page of a new book in case they die midway through, that way they always know how it ends. i tried it one time and i think it ruined the whole book! anyway, those collages are very pretty, and i'm a fan of using a book in some way as a medium.

kiss the kitties for me! and the basset hound!

XOXO!

i love these... and I am guilty of that too. There is something about reading the ending, to help you decide if you want to know the rest. I am always getting greif for this... xoxo

Wondeful post :)

I always read the last line first. I think it's because I just cant wait till the end so it rids that temptation and I will have forgotten it by the time I'm half way through the book so it's like I never read it at all! :)

Oh, how very cool!

These are lovely. I always read the ending first to determine if the entire book is worth my time. That sounds horrible, but I just can't help myself.

Ah I always read the last line too. It ususally never gives anything away because there are so many twists throughout a novel. I like trying to figure out how the last line can be true as I read it, its like doing a new puzzle!

Theses are so pretty! I wish I wasn't so weird about my books because I could make some really neat projects out of the last lines!

These are great collages. Wow. But my type-A personality is incredibly bothered by the thought of reading the last line of the book first. I usually have to cover the rest of the page I'm on with my hand while I'm reading so my eyes don't scan over something that might spoil what I'm reading at the moment. Yeah, I'm super anal, I know.

I love these collages! Word art, can't go wrong with it!

Do you really read the last sentence first? I have to admit that sometimes I do... Try not to read too much, just the last sentence. I read the first line at the bookstore.

Lovely week to you!! xoxo

I LOVE THESE! I definitely don't read the last line, haha, though I still remember the last line of The Great Gatsby verbatim cause it's so pretty. Are those collages for sale? They're amazing. You know how I feel about text in art. :) You find the greatest things, which of course is no big surprise!

Also, can't wait for meet-the-puppies tomorrow!!!

I have a student this year that does that every time we start a new story in class. It normally drives me batty, but reading this post has made me see it in another light.

In case you are interested, I've got a giveaway happening on my blog right now. Enter here: GIVEAWAY.

When I'm reading a book, I always like to go back halfway and at the end and re-read the first few sentences. Gives me a whole new perspective on the book.

I hope you had a good summer!

Wow these are pretty amazing! The artwork is lovely. I can never read the last line because I feel like it will ruin the book for me.

But I guess it doesn't have to.

That's not something I've ever done before, but I'm starting to think it's a good idea to read that last sentence first!

Have you ever read too much and ruined the ending for yourself? I am often tempted to read a bit at the back, but I always resist!
