i never have a saturday off. it was a bit of a fluke and blessing that i got this saturday off so immediately, me and
danielle made plans to have a thrifting date. we had lunch before shopping at this cute cafe/dessert spot (they had a nutella cappuccino!). Danielle is so much fun! i didn't want our date to end so we went to a little thrift store where the proceeds go to the humane society (something we're both passionate about) and found some more goodies.
i didn't take photos of all the things i bought because some will be gifts, but here's a few. Forgive the bad lighting-- danielle is probably cringing cos her photos are always well lighted or else she will wait to take them. Don't i know
my girl fiance well?
we found a bunch of pretty embroideries (danielle said it was a dying art and i agree), oxford-like sandals, porcelain/china candlestick holder (i collect candle holders), and a top i wasn't sure about but i loved the "sweater" cinches at the bottom and sleeves (do you spy stella bear in the last photo? my reason for posting this... look at her tongue!).
danielle said it would go with skinny jeans and heels. That's the thing about thrifting with danielle-- we're never able to talk the other out of not buying something we're unsure about because we usually like it and can give a good reason why the other should buy it (with the top, it was the print).
i love thrifting dates and hanging out with Danielle!
ps. have you checked out her new
dot com shop? love it. and serious camera lovers? she has a
film lovers dream going on!

Love the shoes very cute ; D and the top perfect choice, it's funny because sometimes there is so much clothes to chose from that you get overwhelmed but when you take it home you know you made the perfect choice ; Its always a plus to have a partner in crime when you go thrifting ; D you always find such pretty things. xoxo
Looks like so much fun! I wish I had a good thrifting buddy.
Yeah, you two are definitely bad for one another...Danielle has me modeling that crazy diminutive chair for her next blog post. J/K, you two are funny.
chris, LOL! that chair will be perfect for your future baby (babies). Did your wife tell you we discussed baby names?! along with hot flashes and family craziness...
i adore your wife! and i can't wait for our winery date!
I see stella! cute little thing!
awww, i had so much fun today! i'm SO glad you talked me into the chair, because if i hadn't bought it, i know i would have come home and thought about it for days...maybe longer!
you're the best thrifting fiance, and i can't wait until our next date...wine, thrifting, whatever!
XOXOXOXOXO!
oh nuts, i forgot i was signed in as chris when i typed that last comment, so just pretend it says danielle and dinosaur toes, and not altruismed!
those shoes are too cute!! i WANT to thrift, i just never remember. like today, would have been a good opportunity to go to some shops. the closest i got was gordman's. heh.
It is so fun to have someone to shop with but like you say sometimes it isn't good when you end up talking each other into buying everything!!
Glad you had a great day off.
xx
those shoes are divine!!!
love how you and your girl fiance enable each others thrifting addictions! sounds like a PERFECT saturday off!
anything with nutella in it sounds delicious to me!! I wish I could have a carefree weekend, all my weekends are loaded with assignments that need to get done! :(
miss you!
I think that top is simply adorable! Way to rock it, lady!!!
the embroidery is so so pretty and those shoes! those shoes!
I love those shoes, it sound likes you had such a lovely time
Aw, there is nothing better than thrifting with good company! I have yet to find a great thrift store here in chicago, but the vintage stores are plentiful and amazing. I'm digging that dress, by the way. Hope you rock it soon!
those shoes are a great find! i never find shoes, I have huge feet :(
Love the embroidery! So cute!!
What a fun date... Isn't it the best to go thrifting with someone who loves it as much as you? xoxo
