Wanting to Know you Wens : show me some ink!

here's one of my tattoos, my favorite one (and a gift from my twinkie). It's the Japanese character for "heaven." I wanted a word i would never change my mind about... not love, or beauty... heaven.

i love tats... much to my husband-to-be's dismay because i am itching for another one!!!

next virtual date: show me your tattoo (or favorite one if you're like me and have more than one), tell me where it is and why you got it!

email pics to micaela.lechugaATgmail.com by next wens. and see your ink right here on Dolce Vita.

( and while you're emailing me... don't forget to sign up for my ornament swap! )

I never used to be a big fan so I don't have one but I absolutely love hearing the stories about people's tattoos and why they got them - I cant wait either

That's a cute tatt! I wish I had one to show but I don't at the moment. I can't wait to see the others though.

I have 7 tattoos...and planning my 8th! They are addicting...but I love how they mean something to me.

Here they are and what they mean:
#1-my zodiac symbol on my left shoulder blade
#2-Just a random design on my lower back
#3-added to my #2 random design on my lower back (these two have no meaning)
#4 & #5-a star on the back of both of my ankles...representing me and my son
#6-my son's birthdate in roman numbers on the arch of my foot
#7-August's birth flower for the month my son was born in on my hip
#8-will be a Phoenix on my right wrist...love the meaning of a 'rebirth' as I went through a divorce and now I'm finding myself again.

Nope. Don't have one, never will. Am too scared of how much it'd hurt! But if I ever did get one, it would be a tiny little maple leaf (Oh, Canada!), down by my ankle.

Every time you mention the ornament swap, I get all giddy!

I have 2!! I have a moon and star on my left hip..I got that w/ my coolest friend Angie when I was 25...I got my 2nd at 30 after the end of a disasterous relationship. It is on my upper back on the right side and is the japanese symbol of strength :-) I would love OM somewhere however my Beloved convinced me otherwise...pics to follow!! xoxo

Awe... this sounds like so much fun. Too bad I don't have any tattoos. always kind of intrigued me though... i've always wanted to get my olive's pawprint somewhere. thats the only one i've ever considered...

Can't wait to see everyone's ink!!

I'm not a tattoo girl--have never wanted one--but it will be fun to see everyone else's. :)

Oh this will be fun! I will send you my tattoo(s) over the weekend.

I was asking my husband if I should join the ornament swap and his response was "but you don't even like Christmas". <-- this is semi-true but I just love receiving and sending mail.

body art is beautiful, but not for me. if ever i did get one, for some reason, it'd be like my cousin brandi's - she has a line of baby sea turtles coming out of eggs. : )

I have a tattoo on my left side of my waist. I got it when I was 18. Sort of a rebellious thing to my parents although they don't even know I have it! So that didn't really work. I kinda wish I didn't have it but no one (except my hubs & gyn!) ever sees it so what's the difference? It is the Chinese symbol for dream with a little heart and star next to it. I am glad I got that instead of something stupid though!
