watching: Peter and Vandy

it's been awhile since i've had a movie date with myself that yesterday on my day off, i thought i'd have one with my 3 girls. Twinkie posted about this one. I'm glad she did.

This review said it best... "it explores the question most couples ask themselves... 'How the hell did we get this way?'

i cried and i laughed... relating to their fights and their love.

it made me realize that me and max never fight about silly things {so thankful} but oh, how i remember. How something small can turn into a mountain of words you can never take back. {i once had a fight about french fries! that's another story for another day}

sometimes even the words said out of anger in my past relationships still make me wince when i think about them. Shame i said them just to hurt because i was angry.

"rage is not attractive in a girl..."

this film was refreshing, showing you an inside look at the highs and lows relationships go through.

it was refreshing because it was real.

happy friday lovies. off to work! Max is picking me up after i get off work so we can drive down to Durham, North Carolina and catch a baseball game with his sister and family. As much as i love my dog children (and i do SO MUCH), i do so love seeing Max hold his baby niece and when his 3-year-old nephew caleb calls me "aunt micaela." He used to call me "mi-caleb"-- his name and mine together.

Friday, I'm in love!!!

I can relate to words that you can never take back (not on my side though!) I am usually the quiet one...

i remember those awful fights with bfs before i married my love! it's funny how we don't fight about the mundane like i used to in the past. guess that's a good sign!

i put this flick on my hold list at the library b/c of your sister's post. thanks for the rec! happy friday!

mi-caleb is the cutest hybrid name I could ever imagine. I've never really been a fighter in relationships . . . most of mine have been devastating in other ways, but few have involved fighting. So sad.

And by the way, as you know, I've seen like 10 movies in my life . . . but one of them happens to be the very same "Happy Accidents" that Shelly referenced, and I concur that it was really great! And not only because it has my beloved, Marisa Tomei, in it. I fell for her the second I saw Untamed Heart (possibly my favorite movie ever, along with My Girl). ;)

love you!

Yes, whomever made up that saying "words can never hurt me" had no idea what they were talking about. Communication is the most powerful tool in our basket. Or something like that!

Have fun at the game & w/ Max's fam & being Aunt Micaela! Hearing "Aunt" is marvelous!! : )

It's funny I remember when I was younger and somebody in school tried to pick on me my favorite phrase - "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me", that is such a lie... Words hurt more than anything especially when you are mad and say them without giving yourself a moment to relax. Now that's the worst mistake one can ever make : (

I have family that lives in Monroe, North Carolina : )
Have fun at the game with Max, you guys deserve it... Disfruten mucho and give the baby lots of kisses, they are so cute... Disfruta mucho Tia Micaela : )

Have a great weekend... Lots of amor and hugs from tu sobrino Miguelito..
