Wanting to Know you Wens.

as i was telling erin, sometimes i go back in my blog archives to see how my life was going this time last year. It's especially nice and weirdly comforting to read about a bad time in my life to see how far (or blessed!) i've come.

this time last year i was still living in Texas but visiting Max (who was then just my boyfriend) in what is now our home. i was in love with how magical autumn was in Virginia. we bought our couch set together and when i left, i took one of his favorite shirts with me and left my pretty knickers as a promise i would be back.

A year later here we are... the leaves have started to change again and we've spent many hours lounging on our couch together. (pretty knickers? still working on it) and the best change of all...

my then boyfriend is now he's my darling fiance.

what were you doing a year ago? how has your life changed?

A year ago, my then 1-year-old was wearing a cast. Thank goodness he was only 1! They bounce back. Wow, a big year for you! Time is going to start going by very quickly for you guys!

love where your life has come in a year! this is such a tough season for me... here's a snippet of where i was (courtesy of my old blog) exactly one year ago today...

"i keep trying to not let these things bother me. i miss my PEACE. lol it's not even really a drama llama visit (he's currently in omaha, sorry joy!). it's just his baby cousin, the frustrating ferret. it's like everything around me is set in motion to FRUSTRATE me the past couple months. and that's on top of my normal august 28 - october 31 depression.

i am gonna pray it all away, tho. and spend the weekend w/ leyton & mom. : )"

it's been a frustrating couple of months this year, too, but there are bright spots as always. Thanks for being one of them!

A year ago I was applying frantically to grad schools, trying to escape from where I was without stopping to realize what I really wanted was right in front of me. I was also rushing with school and moving entirely too quickly without looking back... I'm paying for it now, but it'll all work out in the end :)

Last year at this time I'd just celebrated my sister's wedding in Georgia with my then-boyfriend Jaime, and was planning to move to Miami to live with him the following summer (that is, this past summer). Goodness, how things change.

I love this post because I LOVE looking back at how things were. At this time last year, I had barely started graduate school, living in a new house and feeling totally uncertain about everything. Now, I'm getting ready to graduate, living with Ryan, and getting ready to start my big girl life :)

Isn't life magical?

That must be so cool to be experiencing life in a different place!
A year ago I had NO idea we'd be living in a house we BOUGHT instead of renting. Heck, at the start of 2010 we didn't know that! And I was taking my last on-campus classes. So fun, and so crazy to think how different things are now!

A year ago I had just started my Master's degree, was living alone and was full of certainty about who I was and where I was going. And my hair was increidbly short.

One year later my hair is almost shoulder-length, I'm working full time, living with Daniel, and I have no idea where I'm going. But I'm just as happy! :-)

you darling girl, i LOVE this post... your photos are perfect.

A year ago I was having the time of my life with my boyfriend {still am}. We had been dating for about 10 months, and had just started saying 'I love you" to each other. I lived in my little apartment by myself on Catalina, and it reminded me of Carrie Bradshaw's apartment, or at least I liked to pretend.
I was trying to figure out what surprise my boyfriend had in store for my birthday in November, which turned out to be a trip to disneyland. great great surprise.

ah... to look back. : )
