i'd rather be thrifting...

i promised awhile back to share some of my thrifting finds. Wanna see?

^i fell in love with this vintage sleep gown. The pale yellow, lace sleeves, and the unique buttoning on the back. I can't figure out if it's supposed to be a hospital gown cos of the open slit in the back, but i sleep every night with my fiance, so i suppose my bum exposed isn't that big of a deal. *wink. It's light and airy, perfect for spring.

^practical tin personal file for this girl who loses EVERYTHING (it even had the key taped inside). A glass measuring pitcher that can double as a pretty vase (you know, for this girl who also needs to learn to cook a proper meal).

^new mustard heels & a woven belt for spring dresses.

^this is actually a gift for my little seester Maddie who kindly did my taxes. It is perfect for her new apartment because 1986 is when she was born and thanks to this calendar, i told her she was born on a Wednesday.

^the neatest salt & pepper shakers with a tint of pale pink. The bottom has a circle slide and works. I love my phallic looking ones, but i had to have these. Perhaps I'll use these one for Rice Babies Love Vintage Exchange.

^my granddaddy always carried a hankie and so now i will too.

^the cutest little apple bell. I've seen a few on etsy and have wanted to get one because as you know, i foresee apples in our autumn wedding, so when i saw this little gem in an antique mall in amherst county- i was thrilled!

obviously.

I WOULD LOVE TO GABBY! i imagine you have THE BEST thrift stores there :)

Cassie, you actually read my mind. Awhile back i emailed rhianne and asked if she liked vintage things... i just emailed her asking (and praying) she wears the same shoe size i do because if she does, these are hers! she sent me the sweetest house warming package when i was homesick (two of her lovely holga prints). i'm crossing my fingers she wears the right size!

sarah, do share your finds! :) i love thrifting!!! MUCHO AMORE your way xo

Haven't been thrifting in ages and ages. Might have to squeeze in a trip to the thrift shops this weekend...

PS: Bet you look gorgeous in the yellow sleep gown.

*steals pretty yellow nightgown*

An autumn wedding with an apple theme? This sounds scrumptious!

You have such great taste; unusual yet it all matches in such a delicate, feminine way.

Okay so you've officially inspired me to go to some thrift stores in the next few days! I rarely do it because I get so impatient hunting through all the not-so-pretty stuff in order to get to the good stuff, and I can't shake the feeling that some thrift stores are a little depressing inside. You know what I mean? But these beauties make me realize that it's all worth it, and there is certainly no scarcity of thrift stores in the bay area!

You have such great taste. :)
