For those who sent a letter to Iraq for my brother: Giveaway Winner!!!

remember when i kindly asked if anyone would please help me in surprising my brother Marco (currently deployed for a year to Iraq for the 3rd time) by sending him little cards of encouragement? well about 40 of you lovies emailed me, asking for his address. I was beyond thankful for each email.

and so was my brother. My family got this email from him and had to share it with you:

"Today is the 8th of January 2010 and I received a whole lot of mail!!!!
It seems as if all the Christmas cards that were sent to the unit arrived all at once. I received a lot from Edgemere (our family church) and Mickey' friends from her blog. I was overwhelmed with cards as they did mail call, I was the one with the most!!! Please give my thanks and love to all that sent me a card. I have been blessed by all those who took the time and sent me a card, today was most certainly the best day so far! Last time we were at a big base that got mail on a regular basis, but this time we are at a smaller base that gets mail infrequently. I will send something to each person that sent me a card, it will take awhile but I have a whole year to send something."

i can just imagine my brother's face when a pile of mail was handed to him. This image filled me with INCREDIBLE happiness, and it's all because of your good hearts. thank-you!!!!

because of your outpour, i decided to do a little giveaway. for everyone that emailed me requesting marco's address to send a letter, i entered.

and the winner is.... Anna of Il était une fois!!!!
Anna, this is coming your way tomorrow.

thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!!!!

if you'd still like to send my brother a letter, i would be MORE THAN HAPPY and thankful. i'd like to do this every couple of months to surprise him still, and then before you know it, he'll be home safely. xo

That's such a sweet idea to send your brother mail. I have a friend who returned from active duty (but not Irag) several months ago, and it's touching to know just how much a piece of mail means to the soldiers. The next time you decide to do this, I'll join in!
