my valentine card creations.

this is what i woke up to this morning. A white Narnia just for me.

You should know that i am the least bit crafty, which is half the reason i signed up for the handmade valentines day card swap i told you about here. And today was the perfect weather to work on it. i was thankful for a project.

i thought, i've got 5 to send out... what can i do similar but different for all 5 girls? and then it hit me... a theme.

I'm very much a cinema girl. I chose 5 films that expressed love to me. Classics of course (like Franco Zeffirelli's' Romeo & Juliet), but also Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Atonement. I picked out a quote from each film that stuck with me and wrote it on a piece of torn page from a romance novel.

Each card also has an envelope inside where i'll write a little letter.

I'm not a crafty girl, but i put a lot of heart into each one, so i hope they like them. Here's a few sneak peeks of each one:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

inside: "Clementine: "Wish me a Happy Valentine's Day when you call. That'd be... nice!"

Romeo & Juliet.

The Notebook.
(front/inside/back)

one girl who's name i got listed When Harry Met Sally as her favorites...

so that one was easy

Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Atonement.
(front/inside/back)

this last one i made for M, just because.

They are AWESOME! :D

I watched When in Rome the other night, and I totally had you in mind. I told my BP that I MUST go there. I'd write to both of you from some fancy cafe. :)

That original Romeo & Juliet film.. I met the girl who played Juliet, Olivia Hussey, when I was in junior high. She came to meet all theater and choir students to talk about stage fright (I was in choir then). It was AWESOME. :D

Oh Mickey, I ADORE these! You did a wonderful job! Even though I don't really acknowledge V-Day, THESE cards make the holiday much less commercial and much more sentimental!

I love your own personal Narnia. I can just imagine the lamp post and Mr Tumnus rushing by with his arms laden down with parcels...

I love how you made each card individual and special for its recipient. I have only just begun working on mine, and if I hadn't felt so ill all evening might have worked on them some more. Tomorrow perhaps. Am off to bed now, to dream up some pretty creations...

Night-night!
xoxo
