oh i love this: Knick Knack Exchange 'a la Danielle.

Danielle has an exciting swap going on over at Dinosaur Toes.

in her words: "Each participant will be paired with another, and we will send that person a little something that tells them a bit about us, along with a handwritten note about it (and you). Send them something you make, an item you collect, a polaroid from your stash, etc."

Charming. (just like the girl)

as i unpacked these past 2 weeks, i realized i am a girl who loves knick knacks. little reminders of my life, pieces of me.

(don't you just love my coffee creamer holder? a cow! for a vegetarian)

my kind of swap completely.

this calls for a trip to my newly discovered antique shop downtown or always trusty etsy.com. I can't wait to share something like the above with a new friend.

brilliant idea Danielle. I'm terribly excited for it! xo

You've got some pretty knick knacks there, missy! My Grandma is the knick knack queen (and I've had the dreaded job of dusting for her), so I've been very careful not to let myself get anywhere near as bad as she is! It's hard though becuase I'd consider myself a collector of everything!

I know! I love this idea!!

In my family we call them chachcas. And in my family my momma is the chacha queen. There are little trinkets EVERYWHERE. And, I guess, the apple doesn't fall so far from the tree.

Needless, to say it will take me quite some time to figure out the perfect one!! Can;t wait!

That's such a cute idea. Actual mail is the best surprise - a break from the coupon mailers and bills!

M, of course we have the same taste bestie :) CUTENESS!!!

Karen, my thoughts exactly! btw, i love your Awards Show recap. Since me and my twinkie live states away now, last night we "watched" it together via phone calls and text :) it was great. My fave was Jen Aniston- va va voom :) she is my abs. girl crush. but that first winner for "Precious" (which now i'm convinced i NEED to see) was heart-touching.

chelsea r, brilliant! :) sooo GLAD you did. Danielle is great to know too.

Kate- CHAHA QUEEN, i love it.

HURRAH for swaps!!! xo

What an adorable idea for a swap. Sadly a lot of my knick knacks have had to be put away. The lil' dude has very grabby hands!

Aww that sounds so perfect! I have all sorts of knick knacks too. I would join this swap if I could but at the moment it looks like a no go :(

Hopefully there will be lots more of these happening :) xx
