it was a perfect moment. he asked me inside our first home together, and in front of my my twin seester Marianne- knowing i'd want to share this moment with my twinkie soul. My darling friend asked me if there was anything special i wanted to do on my last night, because there was something he wanted to do special...
there is a moment i think no woman will ever forget. that moment the love of your life gets down on one knee and reaches for your hand, wanting to give you forever.
A million times YES.
on the way over to my parent's house to share our EXCITING news, Marianne played this perfect song for us:

On a mountaintop

And I'll never stop loving you
And I want to wake up with the rain

While I'm safe there in your arms
So all I ask is for you

Perfect song. Perfect, because we were leaving the next morning for Virginia.
the first question i asked him before saying "yes" was, "did you ask my father for his blessing?" and second, did he ask his parents for their blessing?
and my family's reaction... oh priceless. They were beyond happy! My momma especially. She is not a crier, but when she saw my ring and saw my smile and knew that such a good man wanted to marry her daughter (this she said to me over and over, "he's such a good man to not only you, but to us too") she cried and hugged him first. It was priceless. It warmed my heart and it's something I'm never going to forget.
it was a beautiful night... a beautiful moment, an important one in the lives of one girl and one boy ready to take on the world, together.
i have no idea how i ever got so lucky.
