one of my favorite weekends in el paso.

when we moved to our new home, we were lucky to live next to a couple our age, also new to town and also newly weds. it was kismet.

Candice has instantly become one of my closest girlfriends and we're lucky that our husbands get along (which you know can be quite rare if you're a couple).

this weekend was Candice's birthday and i can't remember having this much fun in ages! The festivities started with wine and dinner at The Garden, followed by barhopping/dancing til 2 a.m. in the Union Plaza Entertainment District downtown.

Saturday (sporting a minor hangover) we had thai for lunch and went to see "Water for Elephants." It was every bit as magical (and hard to read/watch in some parts) as the book. I know it's not just me, but Robert Pattinson never looked sexier in my humble opinion.

Yesterday, they invited us over for an Easter cook-out where we enjoyed delicious food and more wine outside on a beautiful day overlooking the mountains.

i can't remember having this much fun in ages!

yes, this weekend was definitely one of my favorites.

So glad you've found such good friends--that makes a HUGE difference in how much you like a new city! Max looks so cute with those glasses, btw, I've been meaning to tell you! Happy birthday to Candice, and thanks for the pep talk last night--love you lots!

This post makes me so happy! I definitely understand how hard it can be to find a couple whom you BOTH get along with so well! That's a rare and precious find for sure :)

I'm so excited to see Water For Elephants! I've just begun reading the book and so far I'm liking it, but haven't gotten into the meat of it yet! Definitely looking forward to it!

aw, that's so exciting that you found such good friends so close. trust me - it's one of the best arrangements ever. chris and i's neighbors are also our best friends/another couple with similar interests, and when the weather is bad, it's nice to be able to just hop next door rather than brave storms to hang out with people. so happy you are finding people to connect with in your new home :)
