My little dog - a heartbeat at my feet. ~Edith Wharton

My puppy's having surgery today. We just dropped her off at the vet to get spayed. They'll keep her overnight and i already miss her. Max once joked that our puppies were like my own little fan club. It's true, they follow me around everywhere. He said all they needed were little cameras. {cute}

I'm praying everything goes well. Earlier last week when i took Maverick for her check-up, Dr. Hope said something about a heart murmur I may want to see a specialist about later, as she gets older. You could see why I'm a little more worried about a "normal" procedure.

She's my puppy child, and anyone who has a pet knows what i mean.

I remember when she was this small!

update: she is out of surgery and still under meds, but fine! my little trooper. Anna you are absolutely right, she IS a Texas girl {wink} thank-you lovies for all your support & kind words and emails. i adore you all TREMENDOUSLY!!!! if all goes well, this puppy is coming home safely to Mommy for me. xoxo

Oh god I know exactly how you feel. I just picked up my baby from the vet (we were away this past weekend) & I always worry when we're not with her. I'm sure your pupper will be fine! :)

oh god I know how you feel. It really is scary when your pets are sick, its worse coz you can't communicate with them.

Oh dear, my thoughts are with you today. It's terrible when you are so used to them around you all the time.
Sure the surgery will go well and fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. xx

I hope everything goes okay. Just because they aren't humans doesn't mean that animals are any less a part of our family! Flojo is definitely my baby...she just happens to have feathers!

Aww looks like shes smiling with you :) She'll be just fine and following you around before you know it! When my Akita Echo was a few months old and she was spayed, we were lucky enough to catch her drowsy antics on camera!

Bubby just got spayed the day before we moved almost 2 weeks ago...I wanted Tony to be the one to drop her off, but I ended up having to. I seriously cried when I had to drop her off. She was fine up until she got in the exam room and heard the other dogs crying and then she started to cry and then I started to cry. I blamed the pregnancy hormones but I KNEW I would be upset! (Hence why I wanted Tony to drop her off!) The vet said she would take longer to recover because she's older, but she was fine the next afternoon. We do have to get her checked out again soon cause she might have a UTI..They found crystals in her pee! Anyway, you're a good mommy and I'm sure she'll be fine...Bubby did really well! (Even though the vet thinks she's old!) We'll be sending positive thoughts your way!

I know EXACTLY what you mean, because my youngest dogchild is going in to be neutered in a couple of weeks... and I'm already a nervous wreck! I almost broke down when they told me they would have to keep him overnight! :(
Keeping Maverick {and you!} in my prayers!

Aww, when we took Baby in for that surgery she came back a changed doggie. But she's still my love :)

I'm so glad she is ok! Good luck with the licking. That was the hardest part for me. Not that my lil pup went into surgery, but that I had to tell him no licking or put that awful cone on his head!

I'm so glad your little Texas-pup did amazing! ;) Glad to hear she's out of surgery and feeling better!

Our pets have such a way of touching our souls without having to speak and that's pretty special. :)

i'm so glad your dog is okay. i totally know how you feel, my dog is my baby! i always say if anything happens to him i will be absolutely devastated. i read somewhere that people actually take pet's deaths harder than some people's deaths bc people have such close bonds with their pets and your pets give you unconditional love unlike many people. sorry i kind of went on a tangent, lol.

Its so scary when pets are hurt or sick because you have no idea what they are thinking! What type of dog is she?
