Wanting to Know you Wens.

i read this post from Catherine over at Jumbleberry Orchard about lessons learned from being a Half where she recounted what she's discovered about herself since moving in with her boyfriend. It was all so true and had me giggling remembering the first time i ever moved in with my now husband.

so today i wanted to be nosey and ask you about your living arrangements. one thing i think i've always regretted is never living on my own. I've always lived with either a group of girls or this or that boyfriend.

currently, i live with my husband and our three puppy babies in a pretty big sized duplex. we're lucky that our neighbors on the other side of the duplex are now our closest friends in el paso and our friday night double dates.

what about you? do you live alone? in a college dorm? with a sibling or significant other? or are you on your own in a studio apartment? do tell!

I've been living alone (well, with my dog) for almost a year now. It's the first time in my life that I've done that...and I love it!

I live by my lonesome. And (at this point in my life) I prefer it this way. *He* and I have gotten a decent amount of questions about moving in together (we just celebrated our 2yr, after all), and I just laugh. I am wayyyy too selfish to give up my ALL ABOUT ME apartment.

I'll grow up at some point though... maybe. If I feel like it. ;)

Dearest Beautiful Micaela,
I live with my Daniel (husband) and my puppy Bono Baby. We have moved around a lot in our 5 short years of marriage. Since being married we have lived in my childhood bedroom (for three months), a duplex in Southern Mississippi (3 years), my in-laws basement (1 long year), and a little house in Alabama (8 months). I've only lived at home and with girlfriends. Thankfully, living with my Daniel has always been easy. I adore him so.

love you,
Kitty

p.s. I'm having a giveaway on my blog that I just know you are going to love. Hint: LOVEBIRDS

Rockin' the solo lifestyle for three years! It has its ups and downs.

Ups: Everything is yours. The mess. The pretty things. The remote. The choice of mood lighting. The washer and dryer.

Downs: No cleaning partners. It can be lonely. Sometimes its scary at night.

I'm definitely looking forward to having a hubby someday...someone to snuggle up with during the thunderstorms and to help wrangle the dishes. :)

I am just like you - never lived alone. I have lived in the country (farm), in a dorm room in a city I have never been to, 1st apartment was 4 stories high (no elevator) in the middle of Springfield, MA with now hubby and his best friend. Hubby & I now live in a duplex in the middle of farm country Connecticut with our 3 children and 1 bull mastiff pup.

Ohh, the memories! I live with my husband in a house owned by his grandmother. We hope to move into OUR first "real" home as soon as he graduates, but I will definitely miss our first little abode.

My one regret is the same as yours -- never having lived alone. I miss my husband when he goes to visit his family overnight and I can't always go with him, but I also cherish those times. I know that when we finally have kids, I will be alone NO MORE. haha!

And oh yeah! We have a doggy. But she's a Lab and she definitely an outdoor doggy -- too big and destructive for our tiny house.

i live with my lovely boyfriend, christopher, and our two kitties, Nico & Oliver in an apartment in Chicago. chris and i have been dating for a year and four months now, and have almost been living together for a whole year! we also have a roommate named Gabby who often has her boyfriend, Westley over. Our neighbors, Justin and Jessica (she goes by Jdick) are AWESOME and our best friends. They have really turned us onto some healthier lifestyle choices, and they are always down to cook together, ride bikes, everything. We don't live in the BEST neighborhood of Chicago, but I love it, and I love my boyfriend and the people we are surrounded by :)

last year i lived in college dorms downtown and it was the WORST. awesome location, loved having all of my best friends in one building, but hated my roommates :( much happier now with my love & best friends.

I've never lived on my own either, although I think I'd be fine at it... technically I "lived alone" my first year of school because my roommate kinda fucked me over, but Matt stayed over every night and had all his stuff there.

Right now, I live with my Matt, and our dog, Abbey, in a 2 bedroom apartment. It's nice. I like sharing a bed with someone (most nights, haha) and I love being around him. Living together is something I never thought I would do and I think April will be our 3rd year of living with each other (if you count the pseudo arrangement from my old bitchy roommate)

I've lived alone before, and yes, it is nice, maybe one of the best times of my life. And while it is lovely, there are many lonely moments where you'd love to have anyone there to talk to. That's why pets are so awesome :)

Right now I live in a two bedroom apartment that's owned by my college, with a girl I've known since the beginning of freshman year. Living with her is okay, not the most spectacular experience, but it's not bad either. She's good to go to with my problems, she's always really supportive... but when she has a problem, it's damn hard to be around her. This black cloud just follows her around and you basically just can't talk to her because she isn't there. It's frustrating. Oh, and... two things that bug me like no other: she never gets a new roll of toilet paper after having used up the roll in the bathroom, which I never notice until I've already got my pants around my ankles and sitting on the toilet. OMG HOW HARD IS IT TO JUST GET MORE TOILET PAPER?!?! IT'S TWO FEET FROM THE BATHROOM, JUST DO IT. And #2, she never cleans up the kitchen. Grumble grumble.

Freshmen year my first roommate moved out to live with her boyfriend, and I lived alone for the last three months of that first semester.. and while it was nice having my own room when all my other friends had to deal with pesky roommates, it was also really lonely. I found myself down the hall in my neighbor's room a lot, talking about my day and venting. That's be the best thing about a roommate, having someone to talk to!

I've lived alone for the past 2 years. Prior to that I lived with my ex, and with my best friend. I'm contemplating moving in with a friend to save some money, but am not sure yet if I want to live with someone again. I love living alone.

Living with my Hubby now for almost 6 years after being on my own (kinda - do two kids count? Nodding head!) for a few years after my divorce. We have our good days, our bad days - we have a 4 year old now as well who keeps us all hopping, plus an 8 yr old Boston Terrier, a snake and a ton of dust bunnies! Wouldn't change it for the world! (Except the dust bunnies - those can BURN!)

i live solo and i've always loved it. i've only lived once with a bf. never with roommates and such. there's just a great feeling knowing that you're independent and you have a place that yours (renting or owning).

I have been living alone for a few months now. It'll be a year in July. In the beginning I had a really tough time coping with being alone, it kinda gets to you I suppose. I didnt have a TV (still dont have one) so I couldnt leave it on to curb the loneliness. But now, I really like it! I like having my own space and now it really irks me when someone messes up my space and my things! LOL

I live with my boyfriend of ten years (soon to be husband) in a one bedroom apartment in a building that used to be a nun dormitory. There are a lot of creaks and unique features in our place!

Aha! :-D

Well, as you know, like you I live with the man of my dreams, but no pets yet (hopefully one day soon!!!)!

Before this I lived alone, and I loved it! I was on my own for three years, after living with three boys during the first years of uni.

Of all of these living arrangements, my current is my favourite - I love living with my best friend, and I love looking after him (I'm currently off work and loving playing housewife!) and being looked after in return. It's completely my dream come true :-)

I always lived with my parents until the day I married (I was 27). I now live in our home we bought almost two years ago in Hemet with our three kids, one dog and two fishes. I love my neighborhood!!! and I also love my neighbors because I hardly get to see them... I am the hi, bye, good morning type!

I've lived with Thomas for the last four years, we've worked our way from a teeny studio in London to a house with a garden in Leeds which I love.

Before that I lived with two girls at uni and in student halls which were both very different situations lol.

I've never lived on my own either but I've never wanted too - I like company and I'm easily spooked lol

I'm like you--I have never lived on my own and sometimes I do regret that. I live with my husband right now and we've only lived together since we got married 10 months ago. It has been really interesting getting to know each other's little quirks and how we like doing things a certain way.

I live with my parents for now, and as much as it bothers me sometimes I'm really okay with it. I get to save money for a while, I don't have to do the grocery shopping, and my mom and I get to share jewelry, haha :)

I live with my boyfriend & our two pups. We just bought our first new home together in Oct of 2010. And i do have to say I totally agree with that post.. oh & the way the silverware gets placed in the drawer...its craziness. We will have another dog soon for 6 months while B's brother goes on deployment.

I never lived alone...and I'm ok with that.. i freak myself out too much at night :) I've lived in a college dorm/housing, & then in 3 different houses in baltimore with girlfriends. I finally feel settled..and it's the best feeling :)

until last august, i had been living alone for 10 years... and i LOVED it!! i loved everything about living alone. in august i moved in with the mister and it's been a pretty tough process. it's hard when you're older and you've had your own way of doing things for so long. i never even had the experience of living in one home with the same people growing up, so the ideas to change some of my ways for him is totally foreign to me. i'm definitely going through a grieving process now that i live with someone else. i think i might end up having a studio someday where i can get away when i need to. that seems like the best of both worlds really.

I'm a bit like you in that I never lived alone. I wanted to, but was always travelling and needed to save my money for flights! So I stayed at home, in my parents' basement, until Alan moved to Canada. We moved out into our adorable little apartment overlooking the sea, about 4 months before we got married. We lived there for 3 years, then bought our first place (a condo right downtown). We only lasted there a year and a half. Once we had Dylan, we needed someplace bigger, with a yard! We've been in our house 5 years now.

My fiance and I live together in a 1 bedroom apartment with our pup. Before this, we lived in a historic home with a roommate and his dog. Before THAT, I lived with the roommate by myself and Ryan had his own place with the guys. Way back in college, I had the same girl roomie for 4 years :)

Roommates have been great, but now it's wonderful to be just us.

My husband and I live together in a 2 bedroom apartment. We used to be in a house but this suits us better at the moment. I've only lived at home or with Craig as we have been together since I was 16 and moved in together quite early. x
