a little favor from my heart.

My brother Marco wrote to say he landed in Kuwait. On his facebook, his status was "I am here so far away."

i told him he was not far, he was in my heart. Twinkie wrote the lyrics to a song we've chosen to remember while he's deployed in Iraq for a year:

"Somewhere out there someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another in that big somewhere out there

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky..."

He's our Fieval.

i miss him so much! 364 days to go...

he just emailed us his new mailing address so i have a huge favor to ask from my heart. He knows about my blog and knows how close i feel to you all.

Would you do me a favor and send him a card? a few simple lines of encouragement to my brother & it would mean SO much to me. So very much. He doesn't know i'm asking you guys so it would be a WONDERFUL surprise. (For those in the U.S., it's a regular stamp to send.)

please email me at micaela.lechugaATgmail.com and i will send you his mailing address happily! thank-you!

thank-you, thank-you, thank-you with all my heart. xoxo

I would be honored to spend him a letter. Seriously - you are an AMAZING sister. Shoot me an email with the mailing address and I will get one out to him tomorrow.

ps- Will you also let me know of any rules in sending a letter to military folk in Kuwait? I just don't want to put a sticker on it or something that the Government won't like and not allow him to have my card... :)

My sisters used to sing a duet to this when we were little. Carrie would wear a beret and do Fivel's version and Michelle would be his sister. It's so funny you have the same song with your big sibling! I'm making him a card right now. You are completely fabulous for doing this and I love love love you for it. He's a lucky guy to have such a thoughtful sister. I'm such a lucky girl for finding such a thoughtful friend <3

love dove! yes yes! i wanna send your brother some mail, it'd be so awesome! :)

and what do you mean regular postage to send? like regular "international" or regular "between me and you"? does that make sense? :P

haha i'm a weirdo, i know.

i'm excited to write to your brother. you're practically my sister now, which makes you siblings my siblings, which makes your parents my parents! LOL.

darlings, i can not tell you how much your outpour of support means to me. it touches my heart and my family's too (when i told them how fast you all were to reply).

i don't know if there's any way i could EVER repay your kindness.

i love each of you for doing this.

Aubrey, i'm sooo sorry that you have to experience this but with your foxy hubs. How did i miss he was there? if you ever need anything, let me know xo

Belen, you cute girl. I wrote this in your email but incase anyone else was wondering... it doesn't cost extra meaning to send a letter to Iraq, it's a regular 44 cent stamp (since it's through the military post). I was afraid some people wouldn't want to send a letter if they thought you had to pay international posting. NOPE. not at all :) just a regular stamp. (unless of course you live outside the U.S. which some of you who wanted to send him a letter did and for that i am SO THANKFUL to you {erin & megan} xo)

Belen, you are indeed my family ;) so cute! and the button? FABULOUS! i have it up. love it!!! you are so a tech/craft goddess. You need to teach me how to do 3 columns.

love each and every one of you!!!
