Wanting to Know you Wens.

one of my essential indulgences is a pedicure

where my toes are always painted, i've always seem to neglect my fingernails. i've had this weird belief that painted nails made my hands look chubbier.

That was until i went to san francisco and used Claire's essie nail polish in fishnet stockings and fell in love (she also assured me i was silly in my "chubby fingers syndrome").

i saw this post on pretty.pretty.paper and was instantly smitten!
isn't the glitter gorgeous?! i'm obsessed and can't wait to try this look out.

what about you... what colors are your nails this summer? have you tried the sally hansen salon effects?

i'm fairly new to the whole nail painting party so please tell me your tips and what colors i need to try out.

I must say, I've been loving the green and blue nail colors recently. Mostly the seafoam green colors. I think they're a fun pop of color!

This post totally speaks to me!! I'm obsessed with doing my nails. I have to talk myself out of buying new nail polish on a regular basis. Currently I have a gel manicure in a sparkly charcoal color that I'm loving! I also love the Sally Hanson Salon Effects also...they last FOREVER.

So, I'm all about this topic. As you know. :) And I loooove the glitter look--which is why I hunted down Sephora for OPI's "only gold for me" topcoat last year! It looks perfect dusted across the top of the nails over seafoam, coral, etc. (or red for more drama!).

I'm also pretty smitten with the gelish/shallac nails that Jessie told me about. I've only done it once, but it stays on till your nails grow out. AMAZING!

You are so silly for thinking your fingers are chubby. haha! :) LOVE YOU!

It is so funny you say that! I am always saying that when I have color on it makes my fingers look stubby...HA

I always wear clear on my finger nails.

I am loving this glitter.

Love the glitter! Those are such pretty colors. I'm terrible when it comes to manicures. I always end up bumping them or chipping them before they dry! My tip is to pick a time when you have nothing to do so that you can force yourself to sit and relax and let your nails get nice and dry!

Let us know how it goes :)

Wow I would never have thought to add glitter. I also have weird feelings about painting my finger nails, but I might give this a try. :)

I'm the same way - I always paint my toes but never my nails. Plus I have never ever gone to get a pedicure - guess I'm a little weirded out by someone touching my feet.

I really love the color that April got me in the swap .. I'm taking the pink off my toes tonight and painting them a soft jade green.

I love the first color! Pedicures are my absolute favorite, but I never get manicures. I think my fingers are too short and stocky, ha!

I'm exactly the same way...my toes never go bare, but my fingers just have a clear coat 90 percent of the time. I just find that my finger nail polish chips so quickly, and I do not like the look of chipped nail polish! :)
I am considering blue for 4th of July on my fingers, rather than the usual red. Hmmmm......

The glittery nails in these pics are adorable! Definitely something to consider!

Love the glitter nails! I tried that a few weeks ago and I found that remembering to put a new top coat on every day really helped make it last longer!

That's a pretty neat idea for your wedding day. I like having one nail colored differently every now and then anyway. I also like having my hands be different complementing colors. One thing I hate though is thin nail polish. If I have to do more than two coats, I'm just angry. I really want to try the Sally Hanson Salon Effects! But they're ten bucks and I'm just not sure they're worth that...

The Sally Hansen Salon Effects are AMAZING! They stay on for at least a week, and this is coming from a girl who uses her hands for EVERYTHING! (Not to mention waits tables for a living).

I also really like Essie's turqoise and caicos for a good summery color. It's a lot of fun and all it takes is two coats (and preferably a top coat) for a refreshing look!

Love this! I'm a Sally Hansen freak and I'm hip on using anything without Formaldehyde.

I think that looks beautiful. I don't wear a lot of polish on my fingernails but I love my Essie mint green colour. I think a top and base coat always helps. x

I love coloured nailr polish, particularly sunshine yellow and mint green ... but I'm not brave enough to try it on my fingernails, I think it looks weird on my hands :/

I love painting my nails. I love trying out different colours. I was about to pick up a glitter Sally Hansen Salon Effects but remembered that I am going for a mani/pedi on Wednesday but I really like the glitter mani you posted on your blog.

I just bought too mini bottles from Orly. I have never used their brand but once I tried it, I really like it and want more.
