A sweet housewarming gift surprise!

this snow has made me have serious cabin fever and feel extra homesick...

i needed some air so i went outside with my rainboots, and thought to walk down the hill to our mailbox. i honestly didn't think there would be anything since the last snow we had, the mail was stalled for nearly a week. But i thought, i'm already outside in my boots...

i am so glad i did. when i opened the mailbox, inside was a single parcel all the way from Leeds, England. I told Rhianne i nearly slipped in the snow just then. It was unexpected and the cheer i needed on a much too quiet evening.

Rhianne, of the blog we love, For The Easily Distracted... sent us the sweetest housewarming present:

the kindest of notes with two of her beautiful holga prints enclosed:

they are too beautiful! Rhianne, i am glad for a caring friend like you. You were there for me without even realizing it and i can not thank you enough! i just called Max to tell him how sweet you were to give us two GORGEOUS prints for our casa. Thank-you love! xo

visit her etsy shop for more wonderful photographs

that are perfect for anyone's walls.

and really, if you don't know her by now, you really should accquaint yourself. She's a doll.

Those photos are so lovely. Rhianne is very sweet.

Re: Embarrassing answer - whenever I see my mum she gets annoyed at me for being so tormenting to C, but she behaves in the exact same way with her partner and my sister is the same with her boyfriend. Lucky they all find this hereditary quality endearing!

Ps. I enjoyed Friday's post - I love yours and Max's story. I don't watch much TV but there is one particular channel (in Australia we only have half a dozen channels) and the weather man on it is so much more worth watching than any of the TV shows - he says things like "I'm your stylist, I tell you what you should wear tomorrow! Tomorrow will be cold, so wear a nice big coat, a scarf and a hat!". There are many Facebook groups in his honour. So, weather men hold a place in my heart :P

Bianca, she really is. (as are you!) It makes me giggle how alike the girls in my family sounds like yours. :) We are lucky for the guys who love us enough to "put up with it!" I read what you said about your tv weather man to Max and told him he needed to "use" that line somehow. lol It's really cute!

Melissa, you've got mail :) thank you for being a good friend. It seems fitting we met through a "comfort" swap. xo

Megan, I'm not sure yet... i'm thinking our living room. Max's favorite kind of phtography/art is the sceneic type so he liked these a lot. I will email you my address, but actually i have a very belated thank-you note that will be sent off tomorrow. :)

How great that the mailman got through! In your email you were lamenting about the snow and thinking there'd be no mail, so what a great surprise to cheer you up!

It wasn't a very good day here yesterday (as you read) so I didn't get a chance to reply to your email. I'll write back later today, I promise!

Hope the snow has started melting today!
xoxo
