Once upon a time...

I was a news reporter/weekend morning anchor.
I lived and breathed news for 3 years.

I miss it sometimes, especially when i see pics like these. This was my last live shot before a better opportunity fell in my lap and i joined the PR world.

This was after a drowning and i rushed to the scene less than 30 mins. before our live hit. I'm heel-less {which wasn't rare during my lives} because of the grass and my heels sinking.

I would never change my better schedule/pay/holidays off for anything but sometimes... just sometimes... i miss reporting.

"Reporting live, Micaela Lechuga Channel Six News."

how adorable! That was one of my childhood career goals (after marine biologist)...how'd you get into it?

Also, Penelope and Javier's child? Yum yum, will have to get that baby insured, he/she will be gorgeous!

i've always loved writing. I actually majored in Mass Communications with a minor in Broadcasting. I interned my senior year in college and got an "in." I live in a small market so it wasn't as difficult as say if you lived in Chicago. I loved the experience but I knew that living in a small market and barely having a life-- well i didn't want to make a career out of it if i wanted to have kids and get married one day. :)

baby fo sho better be insured. *wink

I know how you feel. I miss being in the radio studio... terribly. But I know I'm better off with a steady job- but it still stings sometimes to know I was once doing something because I LOVED it, and not because it was the 'wisest' choice...

i'm still amazed that you were once a news reporter. and when you post about it, i'm still fascinated. you're probably use to the thought, but for me, that's a big deal. :)

That sounds like an exciting career. I've always wondered what it would be like to be a news reporter. I'd probably faint at the scene of any devastating news.

Btw, on an side note, I know the feeling of having to switch to being bare foot instead of sinking my heels into wet grass. Struggling to pull your feet out of the floor is way more unattractive than walking around bare feet. :P

Archana (what a pretty name for a pretty girl) it was an exciting career. I was unlike most reporters though, i didn't think "i wish breaking news would happen- a crime scene etc." I loved covering fun events where you could have fun lives and i have always loved feature news stories... helping out a family or telling a personal story of someone's.

ps. one story i did do where my heels got COMPLETELY muddy was a City who's parks were overpopulated with prarie dogs {stop laughing! lol}. Citizens were on the fence on officials trying to "control" the population with poison pellets. anyway, my heels were covered with mud. COVERED.

haha V!

it was nice feeling like a little celeb in my town... i'm still amazed a year out when someone "recognizes" me. My Momma took it exceptionally hard. lol she was my biggest fan, always recording my shows. She was the one i was most scared to tell. :) my pappa knew i was making a better decision. But that's my pappa- level headed. i always love your comments!

and whatever- I'M so proud to have such a fashionista as my friend!
