Sharing Sundays... Plato's Cave.

today's Sharing Sunday is different from any other feature for two reasons. One, it's a guy. Two, an ex-boyfriend (remember that cute baby photo? his).

Joel writes at Plato's Cave and i'm always amazed at his deep thought-provoking posts (though let it be known, i've always thought he wrote well).

Whether it's about darkness or realizing it's okay to be "corny" it's always written with self-assurance (something this writer has not yet mastered). It's the posts about his family i love the most.

i once wrote this about joel:

Luckily me and joel somehow found our awkwardly easy way into friendship... and i'm glad for it. He was such a part of my life. Of growing up. Of learning my heart.

It would be a shame if he wasn't a friend.

i took this portrait for my photography class years ago. one thing i can say
is he was always taking my picture. it used to annoy me when i'd find photos of
me sleeping. i only appreciate them now that i'm "older." youth.

I can't tell you how many times i've called him late at night in need of a friend over the years... or the assurance that everything would be okay.

And that's what i find on his corner of the internet neatly tucked away. That life is never without the sour and yet it's no reason to settle.

joel, i still can't listen to this song and not think of you. how once upon a time, it was your song for me.

i know you'll find a love like this. i pray it with all my being because no one deserves it more.

I love this post. I think its sad that in most people's attempts to move on past relationships they deny the feelings that were ever there, or think that some of that can't be there still in order to continue in life and relationships.

beautiful...love the obvious mutual respect that exists between you both.

Great feature! I like that you still have a place in each other's lives. Sometimes that can still happen with exes. Or if there is too much hurt, it's best to let it go.

It's great that this one is still a friendship.
