We weren't going to bother with it this year. *gaspI know, sad right? we aren't grinches :). We love Christmas.
But sometimes it can feel overbearing, to not be able to give everything you want to the people you love.
Yes, the damned economy nearly stole our joy.
But lover knows how much it means to me, and went out in the cold to pull out the Christmas tree. What makes our tree so special is the hand knitted/crocheted ornaments his Grandma made. They are so darling. I would have loved to have met her.
Inside the box was also keepsakes. It was touching to see lover share old family photos, and espec. cute to see the chubby little baby boy he was. :) What a handsome man you've grown into Christopher. I do so love you...

I'm not allowed to put up my tree until the weekend before Christmas! I live in a house full of grinches!
I love the handmade ornaments and the little photo bauble of the two of you - in fact I like your tree better than any other one I have seen this year because it embodies the true meaning of Christmas.
that is THE sweetest thing you could say to me sweet S cos God knows there are sooo many gorgeous trees. :) lol our "little" guy is skimpy really but you're right, it should be about memories and family tradition. Hearts to you. I can't wait to see your Christmas tree, even if it's the weekend before Christmas ;)
